they NEED to make an extra mode just for experiencing the combat. the combat system is absolutely insane!

So, I finished the game when it came out, and I absolutely loved everything about it. I did the secret ending, and that’s where I decided to end my journey with the game.

Now, three months have passed, and I haven’t touched the game since. I’ve really been wanting to experience its incredible combat again, because that’s the thing that blew me away the most. But I don’t really feel like doing another full playthrough. My first playthrough was perfect, and when I have a perfect first playthrough, I want to leave it that way rather than potentially ruin it by forcing myself through another one.

I just wish there were a mode like The Mercenaries in RE4 Remake. a mode where I could jump straight into the action and just enjoy Pragmata’s combat again.

Is Resident Evil shaping up to be the greatest gaming series of all time?

With 30 years of consistently high-quality releases, I'm starting to wonder if Resident Evil is slowly making a case for being the greatest gaming franchise ever. What stands out to me is how Capcom has managed to keep the series fresh. They've successfully reinvented the formula multiple times, released critically acclaimed remakes, and now Resident Evil Requiem has joined the lineup as another critically acclaimed entry.

What's also impressive is how well many of the older games have held up. I've played all of the modern Resident Evil titles and recently decided to go back and experience the classic games for the first time. I expected some of them to feel dated, but I was surprised by how enjoyable they still are and how well they hold up today. Very few franchises can claim to have remained this relevant across multiple generations of gaming while continuing to attract both new and longtime fans.

Another thing that makes Resident Evil stand out is that it offers something for almost every type of player. The series has created a cast of iconic characters, memorable villains, and countless moments that fans still talk about decades later. It also knows when to embrace its campy side and not take itself too seriously, which has become part of its charm. Whether it's survival horror, action-horror, exploration, puzzles, or replayability, the gameplay is consistently fun and easy to get into. Because of that, Resident Evil feels surprisingly accessible. there's usually an entry point for almost anyone, whether they're a longtime horror fan or completely new to the genre.

So, do you think Resident Evil is on track to be considered the greatest gaming series of all time, or are there other franchises you would put above it?
(to me it already is the best series ever in gaming)

imagine if we got this feature from Resident Evil Requiem in a sequel

SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING:

>!If Capcom decides to make a sequel, Diana would be on Earth while Hugh remains in space. The story could revolve around the two of them trying to reunite. On Earth, Diana might be captured by humans and subjected to research or experimentation, forcing her to escape and survive on her own. Meanwhile, Hugh could be searching for a way to return to Earth, struggling to stay alive without Diana's help.!<

>!If the sequel follows this direction, it could adopt a dual-protagonist structure similar to Resident Evil Requiem. At different points in the story, the game would switch between Diana and Hugh. Diana's sections could focus on survival, evasion, and escaping captivity on Earth, while Hugh's chapters could center on surviving in space and uncovering a path back home. By alternating between their perspectives, the game could show both sides of their journey as they work toward finding each other again.!<

I wonder what their conversations would be like

Imagine if we had Leon instead of Hugh. how do you think he would communicate with Diana?

Capcom NEEDS to make a Pragmata sequel

I think the game spends so much time building Hugh and Diana’s relationship, and their conversations are so lovely. They’re always talking about the things people do on Earth — what Hugh used to do there, and what Diana wants to do once she gets to Earth. She interacts with all the holographic items you find for her, like the skateboard, water gun, globe, and other objects, and it’s just so cute and heartwarming to just stand there and watch her play with them.

The game really makes you believe that one day they’ll return to Earth together and finally do all the things they used to talk about. If the developers wanted this to be a completely standalone story before moving on, they probably would’ve gone with one of two endings: either a happy ending where Hugh and Diana return to Earth together and start a new life, or a bittersweet ending where Hugh keeps his promise by sending Diana to Earth, but can’t return himself because he’s infected with dead filament.
But instead, they do something different. There’s a secret ending that strongly suggests that Hugh survived.

I think the ending is intentionally designed to be hard to accept, because the game spends so much time making you care about Hugh and Diana’s relationship and hope for their future on Earth together. and in the secret ending, It implicitly tells you that Hugh is still alive. And like I said, if the developers truly intended this to be a standalone project with no continuation, they could’ve simply chosen either the happy ending or the bittersweet sacrifice ending. So what would even be the point of adding the secret ending otherwise? They definitely didn’t include it for no reason.

Considering how successful the game has been in both sales and reception, I think there’s a very good chance we’ll get a sequel someday. The secret ending feels deliberately crafted to leave you hopeful about Hugh’s fate while also making the story feel emotionally unfinished, like there’s still more left to tell
