Hi there, I am looking to have the community help improve what I have so far for my homebrew Astartes chapter, the Exiles. Any adjustments to date, events, characters, or overall lore are welcome! I have been considering the idea someone suggested of making them more of a lost great company rather than a true successor. What are your thoughts on this? I am not a 40k lore whiz (currently reading as much wolf lore as possible, but there is a lot), but I feel from what research I have done that this would invalidate my work utilizing a home world? However, some have said it wouldn't due to the whole banished from Fenris thing. This change, likely, would also free up the ability to have their chapter founding much earlier in the timeline (barring the Logan Grimnar duel of course).

Getting ahead of the curve let me apologize, I have not been able to commission art at this time, so I utilized the 5th edition Space Wolf codex artwork as a placeholder. Similarly, Space Marine II and GW photos have been a big help. Finally, please forgive any glaring errors in spelling or grammar, as I tend to just spew onto the page when I write. Thanks!

P.S. Props to the guy that dubbed them the North Stars I used that as the name for their chapter symbol, thank you!

Side note, I am a huge Red Rising fan, so the home world was named after Darrow, haha.

Created from unknown origin they claim lineage from Leman Russ. However, despite the defects in their gene seed that would provide a stronger basis for their claim they are seen as pretenders by the wolf lords of Fenris. After their chapter master lost an honor duel (where his left arm was cleaved to the shoulder) it was decreed by the Great Wolf that they are to be dispersed to the void. They are never to darken the sky’s of Fenris again nor will they be given aid or quarter by the wolves. Since then they have painted the left arm of their armor red to remember the duel. These marines are left to their own as exiles. Color scheme and chapter symbol are tentative as of right now. I am also working on a lore primer for them too. Any thoughts on how the colors or chapter symbol could be improved? Their words are “We are no wolves.” (I feel like the chapter symbol contradicts this but is more of a spit at Fenris for not accepting them) what do you think?
