Has anyone see 1 gal or larger Lion's Tail locally

I'm trying to find some Lion's Tail ... I tried growing it from seed, and had very little luck. Has anyone seen 1 gal or larger at local nurseries? Thanks !

Kudos to the Drugstore Clerk

Sadly, I can't praise this kind soul's employer (or provide specifics) because his corporate overlords would surely punishing him ...

but to the young guy working at a North Austin drugstore who was letting a couple of unhoused individuals sit inside the air conditioned store to eat their lunches in peace, while fending off a co-worker who clearly wanted them gone...

... you give me hope. We need more kind individuals like you!

In Search of Melons that are Actually Ripe ... In search of true Pecos Cantaloupes

I'm tired of buying melons that are picked too soon, flavorless and unripe.

A couple of things

  1. Anybody recent excellent melons finds. Details please.

  2. I've seen a post somewhere about a Pecos family farm that comes to Austin a couple of times per year with trailer full of melons. If this rings a bell, please let me know.

QuickBooks Not Pulling Transactions from Chase

I'm using the awful solopreneur ... that's all I need. Despite being linked to Chase, it is refusing to update Chase transactions. Sometimes, it will pull a correct balance, but no transactions. I've de-linked and re-linked the accont twice, and then it will import transactions ... but I shouldn't have to do this daily ... I mean, Chase is the U.S.' largest bank. You'd think intuit would get that connection right. The other linked accounts update without a problem.

I just came from the Squeky Frog Farm Plant Sale in Allandale hood (North Central Austin). I picked up some whorled milkweed and a blackfooted daisy (I'm trying to cut down on my plant consumption, otherswise I would have picked up more) ... but they had a whole lot more.

I saw frog fruit, yarrow, common milkweed, lot of native and non-native ornamental grasses, and other types of ornamentals. Worth a visit on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday.

Here's the info from their email:

This weekend, May 2nd and 3rd, we’ll be selling at our house in Austin at 7206 Shoal Creek Blvd, from 9 AM to 4 PM both days
