Thought of this when planning a new campaign and wanted to hear everyone's opinion.

So, what do you personally prefer? Denizen of a domain that wants to change things for the better or someone who just wants to return home? Do you do half and half? Maybe all from the domain at the start and new characters arrive from outside or viceversa. Does the answer change when the campaign spans across multiple domains?

I'm curious :)
