KA100 Shop Rebuild Vs D.I.Y Rebuild

Hey everyone, I've just recently over the past 6 or so months started owner karting, I drive KA3 Junior Heavy (I'm in AUS not US). Being on a budget, and having to maintain my own kart, I was curious if I should try out buying my own tools, and doing my own top end rebuilds, or let the shop handle it. I recently had a shop do it for me as it was due for it, but $1000 was just to expensive for me, yes it included the carby tune, dyno, etc, but not everyone's rich, and I know there's going to be about 45 million people say "That's just the cost of karting" When you can buy a piston kit for probs, like $300. I'm only doing local club days as of now, and I have experience with engines just not a KA100, it wouldn't be my first teardown though. Is it worth the extra "Performance" to get a shop to do it or, do I just do it myself?

Although I do know tools aren't gonna be cheap, torque wrench alone is like $300 for an actually accurate one... I Think lol.

KA100 Top and Bottom Rebuild Intervals

Hi everyone,
I'm just starting out my karting journey, and my ka100 is getting due for its rebuilds soon, I'm only doing club days and practice sessions nothing to crazy, also running ka3 junior restricting the engine to under 15,000-14,800 rpm give or take. I'm not to sure when I should get my rebuilds, I'm aware there is a noticeable performance loss after roughly 10 hrs. Which at club days is no real difference to be honest. But on a tighter budget I'm wondering if I can stretch my rebuilds to every 15hrs? With the bottom end I'm completely lost, some sites says every 20 hrs, every 30, 40, I've seen 60 like what the hell mate. Anyways the motor currently has got 9 hrs on the top end with 23 hrs on the bottom, engine was made in 2021 piston size 48.3, the flywheel has no play and the ring is still holding decent compression no bogging etc. Reaches its powerband fairly easy, no rod knock or anything and it hasn't gone kaboom which is kinda important eh? Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone.
