Base priorities

The first few times I built a base, I would optimize it before even thinking of creature comforts. This time around, I thought of what a bunch of weirdos running around a blasted hellscape would do when they finally found a place to call home. So this time, they planted some fields, made a field kitchen (cuz food is always what motivates me to make a base, after my squad gets too big to survive just from foraging). and threw down some sleeping bags. After spending months living off the land, I figured the next thing they would do would want to drink. So, before anything else, they built a latrine, a bar and real sleeping quarters. Realitisically, I feel like before anyone swung a hammer to make sheets of chain mail, they would want a goddamned break from the dust and to whet their parched throats (and self medicate after all the trauma). And maybe take a dump with some privacy.

Unsafe Workplace Conditions in Squin

Me and my crew have bought a few brokedown palaces in Shek country. So far the locals suffer us, beyond bag checks and some mean words It is fugly, but we are efficiently making our own armor and making some shitty weapons. Now one of our skellys wants to make his own repair kits. Space is tight and as my chief engineer says, we cannae do anymore, we need more power. And we need some damn farming, cuz we got too many mouths to feed. Time to scout Stenn or Shem.

Is it a cheese or is this plausible?

I fortunately found a skeleton recruit after having connected with some of the unique recruits. Sadneil and Burn are both in my party. 3 skeletons early game is new to me and I was thinking that I could station one at Black Desert City and another at Black Scratch, so that when I start making some scratch, I can have access to recipes quickly.

My dilemma is whether this works as far as a narrative goes. Would these 2 skeletons feel a part of the team even if they were isolated? Am I breaking the spirit of the game to have my eventual crafters suddenly learn a recipe from a vast distance? I am sure I can rationalize it all, but I find that it is slightly troubling from an immersion POV

Is it just a statistical anomaly?

Playing 26 Red Sox and Garrett Crochet is not injured in my universe. However, he has given up an extraordinary amount of home runs: 22 in 120.2 innings. His prior history doesn't show that he is susceptible to giving up a dinger every 6 innings, and his movement hr/allowed is scouted at 55. Am I just seeing an aberration? I keep recalling Bert "Home" Blyleven giving up 50 one year, but i also recall he was prone to gopher balls his whole (awesome) career.

Best laid plans of mice and men

This morning I planned to take my strike team from our base in Gut to the Holy Nation and cause some havoc. Many of our ragtag gang have suffered enslavement and race based violence from those bastards. However, as i ensured that the hit squad had plenty of supplies (and no excess materials), i told them they could quit doing their jobs so we could avoid the attempt to leave the base only to see a few race back to their ore drill or turret. A few of the squad took a seat around the table in our little hostel. There is a bar, a shelf unit, and some seating. As they gathered I realized that the bar area was pretty dry. So i opened the editor to make some changes. And the next thing you know...

Long story short, i have spent my morning decorating and have let the okranites off the hook for today. Now i have to go to my RL job and my squad will have to wait to bash some okranite heads until i get back home.
