I GOT IN!

Last year I applied to three CRNA programs, got interviews at all three, and was waitlisted at one, my dream school. I felt like I completely crushed that interview, so walking away without a spot was honestly devastating.

This year, I cast a wider net, took the GRE so I could apply to more programs, and applied to four schools. I got interviews at two, one of them being my dream school again.

Ironically, I walked out of the interview this year feeling way less confident than I did last year. I’ve spent the last couple days replaying everything I said and convincing myself I blew my chance.

BUT I GOT IN.

I’m going to be a CRNA.

For anyone who gets waitlisted or doesn’t get in their first cycle, keep going. I know how discouraging it is to feel like you did everything right and still not get the answer you wanted. Sometimes it really does work out the second time around.

Moving company

Looking for a moving company to pack and move my 2 bedroom apartment to another apartment up the street. I’m pregnant and on lifting restrictions so unfortunately I cannot pack or move anything right now. I used bunker hill a few years ago not to pack but solely move my stuff and it cost me almost $2k. I was also only moving a few miles and they disappeared from the old house to the new house for over an hour and came back with lunch (which is totally fine) but they tried to charge me for that time. They also damaged the walls of my new apartment bringing furniture in. Thankfully my landlord was understanding.

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

Applying for the second time but now I’m pregnant

I applied last year to three schools. Got interviews at all 3. Waitlisted at one. Never got in off the waitlist. I just reapplied to three more schools: the one I was waitlisted at and 2 new others. I’m also considering applying to university of Arizona but I’m not sure if it’s realistic to not relocate to Arizona if anyone has any feedback let me know.

I feel like I’m in a better spot. I have shadowed more. The CRNA I shadowed actually reached out to the assistant program director at one of my schools to tell her how impressed she was with me. I took advanced patho and got an A. I’m cautiously hopeful that this is my year.

I’m just nervous approaching interviews because I am pregnant. By the time I interview at the school I was waitlisted at last year, there will be no hiding it. I am so scared it will affect my chances, when realistically, school would be a better situation for me post-birth. I have a very good support system. My partner only works 2 days. Our family is very involved.

My two friends that applied got in. Not to any of the schools I have applied to but regardless, it is so disheartening to be the one that didn’t. I am so happy for them but so discouraged for myself.

I’m rambling now but I’m just hoping this is my year!
