Magnesium Glycinate HR and BP

I know mag glycinate works for a lot of people. I took it for sleep. I just went through an ordeal and couldn't find anything specific on the topic so I wanted to make this post for anyone who comes after me absolutely freaking out and feeling crazy because there's not enough first hand accounts.

I took mag glycinate (Thorne brand, 120mg, one pill) for six months. Usually skipped one night a week, but otherwise nightly intake. I am a relatively healthy 37yr/o F with no cardiac history aside from high cholesterol.

My baseline: BP 110s/70s; HR mid 70s at rest (sitting) and mid 50s asleep (Garmin).

Last week my HR dropped to mid 40s at rest (sitting) and low 40s asleep. BP 90/60.

I ended up at the ER with dizziness and nausea. I had a perfectly normal heart rhythm so they released me. Said to follow up with cardiologist. My labs were high-normal (Calcium 9.8, Mag 1.9). It took five days off of magnesium for my HR and BP to start to stabilize and I'm still not at baseline (currently 6 days off of magnesium glycinate).

So for what it's worth - magnesium glycinate at low doses can still cause issues if you are a particularly sensitive person. You're not crazy.
