Ive resently been getting into burning and ripping CDs, and with that learning about meta data.

As i understand it, when ripping a CD you cannot get the meta data from the CD it self, it has to be found in a database through EAC such as Musicbrainz. But, when i play it through VLC it shows me all the meta data. At first i thought it found the meta data the same way EAC finds it, but i also tried it with my buddies music, wich isnt in any database, the only place the meta data is, is in the original files.

So how does VLC get the meta data, but EAC doesnt? Is the meta data "deleted" from the music when burned, and if so is there any point in fixing meta data to flac files before burning a audio CD?
