What builds are people running?

I’m plat and I want to make the push for emerald. I also watch a lot of solar content but the problem is that guy can build anything and pop off.

I basically run 3 builds:

Full crit - classic, strong, for when I’m looking to one shot; when I get ahead, or when we have mages bot. Really strong into multiple melees and my default against multiple fighters and assassins.

-er into full ap. I run this when I’m getting stomped, or when I think I have to match side lane all game. Or if there’s team synergy like a j4/camille

Hybrids. I run this when I feel like I can still win top and use my ult around the map. Typically it’s 3 crit items and 2 ap items. The LDR is pretty good for both.

The problem is I’m running hybrid more and more. gp can be inconsistent when the enemy is multiple ranged champs contesting barrels. Also these days I’m playing into way more ranged tops and it’s often easier to focus on not dying top and just nuke bot.

I also think it feels good to play because both my barrels do reasonable damage and my ult does reasonable damage.

Am I trolling myself? Is full crit still the way to go?

Adult progressions.

I’m looking for a progression novel focused more on adults. I don’t mind a mix character aged or a younger starts but so many novels max the protagonist out at older teen. As a 30 year old (M) I struggle to get fully connected when the MC starts at like 12 and stays at that age for multiple books. Often there’s a time skip (like all the skills) but that might only place them to 16 or so.

It can be a more traditional lit rpg but I’d love one that’s more plot / charter focused rather than grind focus.

Totally fine if it dips into more traditional fantasy like storm light. Prefer to avoid obvious or obsessive harem elements.

I’ve read primal hunter and he who fights monsters and defiance. I really liked the first couple of each but fell off for the typical reasons.

Also did cradle. I was much younger when that series started and did like it.

Edit: lots of folks like DCC. I tried it but gave up. I see why people like it but having an animal companion as a primary character was something I really struggled to get past.
