I am currently travelling in Japan, decided to go to Odawara to photograph Dr Yellow because it would be pretty cool to have a photo of it as a souvenir given this is pretty much a once in lifetime thing for me. Immediately there are a billion gunzels lined up at the platform with huge telephoto lenses. I ask a fella "Hey do you know which direction Dr Yellow is coming from" to which he straight up lies to me and points in the wrong direction. I figured out pretty quickly where it was actually coming from. Dr Yellow rolled in, I was mindful not to step too close to the yellow line, or get in the way of people's photos/videos. Then afterwards, same asshole comes up, kicks me in the leg, and starts swearing at me in Japanese as if I could understand. Shows me his photo - my head is partially in the way of the foreground, not even blocking the train. What a disgraceful chopped guy.

Now I understand exactly why 'Toritetsu' people are looked down upon and I have to agree with the majority. If this is you, I am very sincerely sorry my head was 5% blocking the foreground (which you can edit out using Lightroom or crop it out easily) and get a bloody grip mate. Regardless - I'm pretty happy I got to see Dr Yellow

(For those unaware - "foamer" is a colloquial term used to describe someone who "foams" from their mouth over trains - so this post is specifically targetted towards that audience)

Hello everyone, I am currently in Tokyo for the next week and heard Dr Yellow is coming. As a photographer I don’t wanna miss out on this rare moment. Where are some cool locations in Tokyo to take photos of it rather than at just the train station? Will there be lots of gunzels/train enthusiasts crowding around that may affect my ability to get a good photo?
