All in - one question though!

I've been using YNAB for well over 15 years (with a couple year break when the Simple card came out), but yeah - seeing it slowly morph into what it is now has been depressing. I tried out ZeroSum when the initial dam broke a couple of months ago, and had no luck with Lunch Flow syncing. Tried again once Plaid was set up, but the lack of Apple Card support made it difficult to commit to switching. And after a frustrating moment in YNAB a week ago, I tried again.

  • All the fonts were too small on mobile, then made them larger and increased the contrast.
  • Felt too utilitarian. Paper theme made me smile.
  • Was confused by the forecasting, then realized my Goals didn't transfer and reset them.
  • My Chase cards weren't syncing, but 24 hours later they kicked off
  • Started diving deeper into Analytics, cleaning up my Payees, and found zen in manually entering Apple Card entries.

Yeah, hooked. And cancelled my YNAB sub.

One day I'd love a customizable Overview and Apple Card support (yes, I know they're both coming!), but it's already such a better experience than the software I swore by, and I can't wait to see how this grows.

Question, though!

I'd love an analytics view that gave me a visual for how a goal this month is trending. I have x money set aside for eating out, as an example, and seeing any kind of data on if it looks like I'll overspend or not would be wonderful.

I know we have the bars in our budgets, but how the "Forecast" Analytics view shows the ranges, would be neat to see my percentages for staying under / going over a goal?

Is there already a way to do this that I'm missing? Or is it a bad idea for reasons?

UPDATE: I super missed the Spending Pace element in the Budget side panel (thanks Quirky_Exercise_9064)! This would be an AWESOME thing to be able to bring into a future customizable Overview - like being able to post a handful of goals you want to see the pace of in single spot.

Stealth edit, this exists! Thanks LadyEnigma - it's crazy how much power this app already has. :)

Auto Budget Future Months (without going into the red)?

One super useful thing I love about YNAB is I can just auto budget based on my current "Ready to Assign" amount in future months, so when I get my paycheck I can jump to a future month that needs to be filled and just plop it in there with a single button click and it auto fills things it can and I'm good to go.

When I try to do the same in Zero it auto-budgets the whole thing, and then I'm in the red.

I don't see an option for "use all of my Ready to Budget" funds, or am I missing something / looking at this the wrong way?

Looking forward to the future!

Just wanted to say coming from a very long time (like, original version) of YNAB, I was floored by how well this replicates and enhances what I'm used to. Was super impressed from my first import, and can't wait to go all in - there are just two things stopping me, one looks like it'll be fixed super soon, the other might be a long ways off.

Plaid support - for some reason Lunch Money just doesn't work with half of my accounts, and I get constant errors on the LM website. Plaid has been pretty wonderful with YNAB and other apps I've tried recently, and was super happy to see that's coming soon.

Apple Card support - I super understand why this is a ways off, and I wish Apple didn't have such a constraint for syncing, but it's my family's main card(s), and manually syncing that one would be a pain.

I'll give this another solid go once Plaid is in, but hopefully Zerosum does well enough to let Apple Card syncing happen eventually. Heck, I'm sure worst case I'll sub to the standard account just to support, and can't wait to fully kick YNAB if / when that comes online.
