I get why mobile games want to show everything early, but a lot of them do it in the worst possible order. Before I even know whether the actual gameplay is fun, I’m already being walked through currencies, upgrades, events, season rewards, shops, characters, limited-time menus, and three different places where a red dot wants my attention.
It feels backwards. The core game should be the part that sells me first. If the match, puzzle, race, or whatever the main thing is feels good, I’ll probably figure out the rest later. But when the first session is mostly menu management, I start wondering whether the game is hiding the playable part on purpose.
Simple mobile games are not automatically better, but at least they usually have the confidence to let you play before asking you to care about the ecosystem around it.
