Context: After WW2 Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon promise not to have any more children because their effect the mortal world and escalate conflicts too much. Immediately after they make that promise the oracle say‘s this prophecy. Everyone assumes it’s the promise just made by the the Big Three but Greek Mythology has a lot more oaths than just that, from vows of marriage to eternal maidenhood…

Prophecy:

A half blood born of broken word

Shall reach 16 by wit and sword

Will see the world in endless sleep

A Hero’s soul cursed blade shall reap

A single choice to end his days

Olympus to preserve or raze

The prophecy is far from perfect… just a fun thought experiment. Feel free to make up oaths such as Titans not having kids or Gods not having children with those hosting egyptian gods, though I think working with real oaths is kinda fun.

1- Percy Jackson is not just a child of Poseidon but Neptune as well. Apparently demigods of both world are very similar to gods in which they can have split personalities . Percy fights unpredictability like the sea, Perseus fights like he’s as inevitable as a storm, Percy is loyal to people, Perseus is loyal to a cause, Percy loves Annabeth, Perseus does not… Can Percy and Perseus reconcile in time to win the war. (Starts in Mark of Athena)

2- Percy Jackson is fated to be a God. It didn’t matter how many times he rejected it, his course had been set. He was already walking the path of Dionysus, despite his protests he was already being worshipped. And as much as his closest friends denied it, they knew how much better the world would be if he sat on that council.

3- Leo doesn’t fire on Rome. The seven are not forced to leave in a hurry. The senate that was supposed to happed did and instead of sending Percy they chose Reyna. Octavian argues that they shouldn’t send their “Giant Killer“ over seas, and that a Praetor of Rome if a praetor of Rome wasn’t enough than the Greeks will get no help from Camp Jupiter. In reality he thinks a son of Neptune is a much easier political opponent than Reyna. Now Reyna is forced to deal with a quest she doesn’t belong on while Percy deals with the ruthless politics of New Rome.

Percy is cursed by Kronos to (you guessed it) get sent back in time to the Trojan War, only Fate still needs him in his timeline, anchoring him. So when he goes to sleep in the modern world he wakes up in Troy and vice versa. As he fulfills more and more of his role in the Great prophecy/Prophecy of the Seven…

- Freeing Thanatos

- Being the Greek bridge

- Closing the doors…

His anchor to the modern world(Fate) weakens, making him spend more and more time in the Trojan War, spending a week at a time then two until the world he used to live in feels like the dream.

Extra:

- Time doesn’t pass equivalently. He wakes up when he usually would rather than after a period equivalent to the time spent in the other period.

- Injuries pass on
