The Beautiful Russia of the Future (well, not only Russia)

Describing the possible events would take too long, so I'll be brief.

Ukraine ultimately suffers defeat in 2028, and Zelenskyy flees to Poland. Russia establishes an occupation administration but capitulates to NATO forces. This gives rise to grassroots movements that later merge into a single Communist Party of the CIS and gain a foothold in Russia. Russia, in turn, reasserts its influence across much of the former USSR.

Finnish Democratic Republic

Yes, it could have been literally a Nordic GDR after WWII: left-wing multi-party system in exchange for loyalty to the ideals of socialism and the theoretical possibility of creating a smooth new system - planned economy with few market elements. But the USSR was already helping Eastern European countries rebuild their economies, while it itself was in ruins.
