Maybe I've just been unlucky, but I've been finding it difficult to make genuine friendships with people from other countries. I'm Brazilian, and I'll be moving to France in the future as an au pair. I'm also fairly new to the LGBTQ+ community, so I'm not sure if either of those things has anything to do with it. Most conversations seem to end after just a few messages, or they never really get started.
Since I'll be moving abroad, I'd love some recommendations for apps or communities where it's easier to make friends. Right now, I only use HelloTalk to practice languages and meet people from different cultures.
I'd really love to learn more about LGBTQ+ experiences in different countries, since every culture is a little different. I'm always happy to learn, share experiences, and make genuine friendships. 😊
