Has anyone worked with New Zealand Shores for finding work in NZ?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has personally worked with or used New Zealand Shores in connection with finding employment or moving to New Zealand.

My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support Specialist with 20+ years of experience, and we are currently investigating legitimate pathways for him to find employment in New Zealand.

I’ve come across New Zealand Shores and would really appreciate some first-hand feedback before we consider using their services.

  • Did you work with them?
  • Did they actually help you secure employment?
  • Were the jobs they presented legitimate?
  • Did you eventually obtain a New Zealand work visa?
  • Were there any unexpected fees or problems?
  • Would you recommend them?

I’m not looking for opinions based on hearsay — I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who have actually used their services.

Thank you! 🇳🇿

IT Support / End User Support Specialist – Seeking Opportunities in Japan

Hi everyone,

I’m posting on behalf of my husband, who is an experienced IT Support / End User Support Specialist from South Africa and is currently exploring opportunities to work in Japan.

He has 15+ years of IT experience, including:

• IT Helpdesk / Service Desk
• Desktop Support
• End User Support
• Technical Support
• Hardware & Software Troubleshooting
• Microsoft technologies
• Azure and cloud-related learning
• User account and access support
• General IT infrastructure and troubleshooting

He is also continuously upskilling in Microsoft, Azure and AI technologies.

We are currently based overseas and he does not have a Japanese visa or work rights yet. We are therefore looking specifically for legitimate employers who are willing and able to sponsor an appropriate work visa for an experienced overseas IT professional.

We understand that finding IT work in Japan from overseas can be challenging, and we are not expecting it to be easy. We are simply hoping someone in this community may be able to point us towards companies, recruiters, job boards or opportunities that are open to international applicants.

He is hardworking, reliable, experienced and very willing to relocate to Japan for the right opportunity.

If anyone has advice on:

  • Companies that sponsor IT Support roles
  • Recruiters who work with overseas IT professionals
  • Suitable job boards
  • Visa sponsorship pathways
  • Or your own experience getting an IT job in Japan from overseas

we would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you very much! 🇯🇵

South African IT professional looking for advice on finding sponsored IT work in the USA

Hi everyone! 👋🇿🇦🇺🇸

I'm hoping to get some advice from South Africans or other international IT professionals who have successfully found work in the USA while still living overseas.

My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support specialist currently working in South Africa, and we're researching whether it is realistic for him to find a U.S. IT position with employer sponsorship.

His experience includes:

  • IT Support / Helpdesk
  • End User Support
  • Desktop Support
  • Systems Support
  • Hardware & Software Support
  • Networking / Infrastructure Support

We understand that U.S. employers often prefer candidates who already have work authorization, and that sponsorship for general IT Support positions can be difficult.

For anyone who has successfully done this:

  • How did you find your U.S. employer?
  • Which job sites or recruiters actually worked?
  • Did you apply directly to companies or through a recruiter?
  • Were you able to interview and secure the job while still living outside the USA?
  • Are there companies that are known to sponsor IT/technical support professionals?
  • Is H-1B sponsorship realistic for experienced IT Support professionals, or are there other routes we should investigate?

We're looking for real experiences and genuine recommendations, rather than paid immigration services.

Any advice, recruiter/company recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🇿🇦❤️🇺🇸

Thank you!

South African IT professional looking for advice on finding IT work in New Zealand

Hi everyone! 👋🇿🇦🇳🇿

I'm hoping to get some advice from people living and working in New Zealand, especially South Africans who have relocated there.

My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support specialist currently working in South Africa, and we're researching the possibility of him finding an IT job in New Zealand while still living in South Africa.

His experience includes:

  • IT Support / Helpdesk
  • End User Support
  • Desktop Support
  • Systems Support
  • Hardware & Software Support
  • Networking / Infrastructure Support

I'd really love to hear from anyone who has successfully moved from South Africa to New Zealand for an IT/ICT Support position.

How did you find your job?

  • Which NZ job sites worked best for you?
  • Did you apply directly to companies or use a recruiter?
  • Were you able to secure a job while still living in South Africa?
  • Which companies or recruitment agencies are worth approaching?
  • Are NZ employers generally open to interviewing and hiring candidates from overseas?
  • Is there anything you wish you had known before starting your job search?

We're trying to be realistic and focus on genuine opportunities for experienced IT Support professionals, rather than wasting time on jobs that require someone who is already in New Zealand.

Any personal experiences, advice, recruiter/company recommendations or useful contacts would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Thank you! 🇿🇦❤️🇳🇿

South African IT professional seeking employer sponsorship — Australia

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm hoping to get some advice from fellow South Africans who have successfully moved overseas through an employer-sponsored job.

My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support specialist currently living and working in South Africa. We are hoping to relocate in the future and are researching the most realistic options for someone in his field.

Hi everyone. 🇿🇦

My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support specialist currently working in South Africa. We are researching the possibility of him moving to Australia through employer sponsorship.

His experience is in IT Support, End User Support, Helpdesk, Desktop Support, Systems Support, hardware/software support and networking/infrastructure.

We would like to hear from South Africans who have successfully moved to Australia through employer-sponsored IT work while still living in South Africa.

If you have done this, we'd really appreciate hearing about your experience:

  • Which visa pathway did you use?
  • Did your Australian employer sponsor you while you were offshore?
  • How did you find an employer willing to sponsor you?
  • Were there particular IT occupations or employers that were more open to offshore sponsorship?
  • Is there anything you wish you had known before starting the process?

We're particularly interested in the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) pathway and whether it is realistic for an experienced IT Support professional applying from South Africa.

Thank you! 🙏🇿🇦🇦🇺
