She's 16 and never fails to surprise me with the quality of her buns.

Wobbles (the tortie) is 13. The tabby, Kitsey Baba, is 16. These two have a confusing relationship wrought with many baps and begrudged couch cuddles.

She was a lickitung in a past life

She's 13 and ridiculously lovable

She's 13-years-old and completely missed the memo about having tortitude. She's so lovable

She's such a sweet girl.

I've been able to tell that her hearing has been fading for awhile now but I think it's finally gone (at least the majority of it). She no longer runs to meet me at the door and doesn't chat with me when I talk to her or respond when I call for her. I got home today and went looking for her and I found her sniffing around her food bowls in the kitchen. I started talking to her and walking up to her. When I was about two feet away she turned while sniffing the floor and caught sight of me and immediately started crying and running up on me. A lot of times when I get home she stays sleeping right through all the noise, even if I have grocery bags, but jumps up screaming the moment I start petting her. Her ears don't twitch if I snap my fingers nearby. So, yeah. It's okay. She's still my happy girl and despite her wizard eyes still seems to have full vision. Just gotta enjoy the journey.

The manual says she's 16-years-old and there shouldn't be any bugs left in the directions but I'm not sure.

In low to normal lighting her eyes are completely black, affectionately known as her wizard eyes. I included a picture from a few days ago in direct sunlight where you can just see a ring of color around the edges. She had the most beautiful honey-brown eyes when she was younger. The last picture is how she was curled up asleep this weekend, all four of her feet twitching as she slept, an improperly assembled IKEA cat.

Baba is doing as well as can be expected. She was just de-wormed and flea/tick treated and her weight is maintaining. She doesn't fight her pills at all, which is good considering she's still taking several. We tried her on the ear gel form of her mirtazapine but her skin reacted to it- her poor ear turned red and the skin got really dry and flakey- but she doesn't mind the pill so it's back to that. Other than that, she just runs me ragged offering food and treats, bats at Wobbles whenever she tries to lay with her, and runs to scramble into any opened cabinet before I can shut it.

She's become highly skilled in her old age

Because things are apparently better when you steal them.

She is a perfect little baby and nobody can ever tell me otherwise. I don't post her as often as Kitsey Baba only because she is usually glued to her favorite small human at all times. She is a wonderful little thing who loves catnip, crunchy treats, and licking the fur off her belly. No, really, she does, she has allergies and anxiety and takes several medications and yet "please stop eating yourself" is way too common of a saying in the house. Pretty sure it's self-soothing at this point, like thumb-sucking. We're working on it. She is also the only cat I've ever had who insists on sleeping in a cat bed and will cry when it's in the laundry until I make her a temporary nest out of sheets to lay on.

My love ❤️ She is doing well enough. We go back to the vet in a few weeks. For now, she's just eating whatever I can get her to eat- I'm still offering meals and treats constantly- and being my velcro baby.

Or, something like that, anyway. Health is maintaining. She did go off food again in the last few days, but I got her to eat today by grinding up Bonkers crunchy treats and mixing them with water. She also demanded a sample lick of potato salad so there is some food interest, just gotta keep switching up what she eats to keep it there.

That's all. Nothing sad. She just looks like she's flying off to save the day. And she does, everyday.
