102mm ED or 80mm Apo for AP

Getting back into AP after 10 years. I previously imaged exclusively planetary with an 8in SCT. I am wanting to get into some deep sky stuff this time around. Specifically m81, 51, Virgo cluster, cats eye, ring nebulae. That's to say I'm not really looking for ultra wide field. F/6 is in the range ive settled on. My question is if 65% more aperture is worth sacrificing color correction? 102mm triplets are out of my budget. The 102mm doublet will be used with a reducer/flattner so im not worried about field curvature. Thank you!
