Boo boos.

My nut of a son scraped his hind leg as we were going to the vet! She prescribed mupirocin for the wound but im not crazy about using it, especially since he wants to lick it. Looking for advice on wound care. Its a superficial scratch but he licks it and it bleeds ever so little. Im keeping it clean but should I put anything on it? Were located in the US, NY.

Teeth cleaning.

Powder, paste, doggy gum......what does everyone use. OK, so his front teeth are nice and pearly white but those back molars could use a cleaning. I bought the Enzymatic toothpaste and he thinks its a treat. I have been seeing soooo many different old comments about what is used. I also have pig snouts and ears and I got a duck foot but he inhales these things. I sometimes have to hold it so he doesnt swallow it so fast! Looking for any kind of advice! Hes 19months old so still a puppy.

Looking for recommendations on what to use on Inigos paw pads. He keeps licking his carpal pads. His pads are good but the carpal pads are a little wonky.

Off leash questions.

I adopted my 19month old son 1month and 20days ago. It feels like ive had him way longer. I havent let him off leash yet; not even in the back yard and it is fenced in 6ft around. Did anyone take any steps to letting their galgo off leash in their yard. Do they try to jump fences 6ft high? I really want to give him the freedom to run. His in house zoomies are intense and I think he would be much happier if I can let him run in his yard.

Pet insurance?

I am finding it impossible to get insurance for my Galgo. Hes 19months so I thought it would be good to have but the reviews and lack of coverage for a breed like him is keeping me from choosing. Im leaning toward ls a separate savings account. Anyone else found this frustrating?

Treats

Hello Sighthound family! I am a new mommy to a very handsome 18month old Galgo and was wondering what kind of treats you guys give your fur babies. Any specific kind of chews. I find he likes to gnaw on his stuffed animals so I want to give him something to chew on but want to be safe about it. The vet said no jerkey and I already know never rawhide. So what can they have?

Any advice welcomed!
