This plant originally had one stem now it’s grown multiple and I’m wondering if I can propagate it and how???? The shoots are growing out of the original stem.
What are these and how do I get rid of them?
Few months ago there was a storm and this shrub got uprooted. Now its dead as a doornail. How should we fix this space again? We don't know much about gardening.
Thank you
hello & thank you in advance, any help is so appreciated! so my ficus rubberplant is looking a little sad & I don’t know why, it’s always been quite happy- it lives on my living room window which is deep and gets good light but not harsh Sun, it has well draining soil and I feed it when required, recently it has started to look like this- from afar it looks pretty good but the leaves are bending and feeling quite thin, can’t anyone help me? thank you! :)
Hello everyone,
My potted mandarine tree has started developing dead/drying branches mostly from the upper parts of the tree, and it seems to slowly spread branch by branch. Some leaves dry out and curl, while other parts of the tree are still producing healthy green new growth.
It is currently on a closed balcony but It was inside by a large window until very recently. I moved it to balcony thinking it would help with the situation. I dont use any fertilizers and only water it. I repotted it from a 10L to a 20L last summer but roots were not crammed back then.
I feel very lost and stressed, because I dont want this tree to wither, I planted it from a seed and it has been with me since then and I am very attached to it. I would really appreciate any help identifying whether this looks more like underwatering/root stress, environmental stress, or disease, and what my best next steps should be.
I am a student therefore I did not plant it, I really want to understand what I need to do to save it, so please excuse me if this is not the ideal subreddit or if I am breaking any rules here.
note: It is from a mandarin seed and I am not sure what to call it since it is not grafted.
I am attaching an earlier photo at the end.
Hi! I finally got my first pilea :D
I definitely need some advice on her though lol
I got my pilea around March and she’s been fine for a while until recently one of the leafs started drooping. I didn’t think it was THAT big of a deal as I watered her when needed, she got sunlight and was spun around everytime. But idk she started turning a little yellow and see through, with a little rip turning black. She’s always had that rip from when I first got her but I wasn’t sure if I needed to cut it.
But anyway yeah :( at least my other ones seem happy (I hope so) but I am worried something could happen to them soon if I don’t figure it out now.
One question 🧖♀️
On the last slide, is that a new leaf growing in? I really want pups to grow as I’m planning on potentially propagating them in water, but I’m sooo impatient 😣 if there’s some things I should know about propagating them, I’d really appreciate some advice on that too!
Update: I checked her this morning and she developed a brown spot! So crazy it only came after a my post lol. Sadly when I was inspecting the leaf just fell off so I guess I will see how the rest of the plant progresses 💔 thank you so much for the help!
When i got her it was the middle of winter and she was very big and full. I live in chicago and my apartment building has issues where it would be incredibly cold for days and then incredibly hot and i think maybe that shocked her too much? now it’s consistent temperature and she gets tons of light but every week more leaves turn brown and fall off. i’m watering when soil dries up and tells me to based off of leaves appearing dry.
there’s still a bunch of long decent vines - any advice on how i can salvage? was thinking maybe i could just cut a bunch of the long vines shorter and re pot as shorter and fuller but looking for any advice?
are these babies ready to pull out? this is my second time having an alocasia (first one died) and idk what to do i'm scared to pull these babies out :(
Looked up the latest likely date for frost in my area and put them out a week after that, weather app didn’t say anything about cold weather and it literally frosted that same night. ☹️
Not sure what some of them even are, there are quite a few succulents/cactuses and a couple spider plants. I’m not very knowledgeable about plants. I inherited these from a family member who passed away that was living with me and they had been kinda neglected in a back room that is a mess so was really hard to get to them to water and take care of them. That’s why I wanted to put them outside as we had done before once the frost was clear.
The plants are getting plenty of light outside though it’s been pretty cloudy and unfortunately colder than I thought it’d be this late in the year and get watered a couple times a week.
If there’s anything I can do to save any of them I would really appreciate any and all advice!
I only got it from a plant fair a few weeks ago. The other one is doing fine. I can’t see any signs of pests!
This cute little one is tending to dry up. I don't know what to. I tried to leave it all by itself, not watering, fearing if I overwater it, even changed the soil to a succulent friendly soil. But it's still seeming to feel very low. It is indoor & gets 8-10 hours of indirect sunlight through the window. Please help.
I’ve had this aloe for a several years after rescuing it from a big box store. It was so unhealthy, it was a sickly gray color! It came back to life after a long soak and has been thriving ever since.
It’s only ever been repotted once and I’m starting to worry that it has outgrown its current container. This is the only aloe I’ve ever taken care of so I have no idea what is acceptable and what is not in terms of pot sizes/depth/type.
The TL;DR- should this guy be repotted? And if so, what type of container would be best?
I was away for 2 weeks and when I came back it was blooming again but one leaf looked like this… what is it and what should I do?? I’m so sad I’ve had it for more than 1 year and I’m very attached to this orchid:(
I think I may have killed my Annabelle hydrangeas and I’m trying to figure out what went wrong. I bought a new Anabelle a few weeks ago, and after we suddenly got some unusually hot weather for spring, the leaves turned brown and started drooping. I watered them heavily for several days because I assumed they were heat stressed, but now I’m wondering if I actually overwatered them since the leaves never became crispy.
What confuses me is that I treated my Limelights the exact same way and they are doing perfectly fine.
I ended up removing the dead leaves and cutting back the brown, soft stems (but left the woody stems alone) hoping they would push out new growth. It’s now been about 2 weeks with basically no progress, and I’m worried I may have killed both plants. I’m in zone 7a, and they get morning shade with full afternoon sun.
FYI, my Anabelle plant from last year was doing fine up until this incident so I dont think its transplant shock because both the old Anabelle and the new Anabelle have the same problem.
Does this sound like heat stress, overwatering, too much afternoon sun… and are they possibly still salvageable?
So I’ve had this 2 inch starter anthurium vittarifolium since this past December. Ive since put it in this 3 inch nursery pot with a modified aroid mix.
I’ve put it in higher humidity, didn’t like it. It hasn’t dropped many leaves and just seems to be staying alive but not thriving.
It’s currently on an east facing window shelf. It seems to like it there. It needs watered about every 7-10 days but I always wait till the soil is dry . I haven’t fertilised it.
What else could I be doing? Or am I just impatient. I just want to know if there’s more I could be doing. Or something differently. Finished.
My plant's stem broke from between then I put it back in soil somehow, but still it seems to falling down, and leaves are getting dried up. Can this be saved ? Please help. This plant is a gift.
This plant is kept near a north facing window gets indirect light during the day. It has had droopy leaves for a while... my mom has been watering it regularly but I'm not sure about her watering habits specifically. Is it being under watered/ over watered..? The leaves are yellowing and dropping and the new shooting needle also started to brown.. checked the roots last week and they looked fine to me. The soil mix from what I know drains well... dont know what to do... please suggest a solution
