CRAZY KART - State of development

Hey, my lovely people.

I’m really making great progress! The AI definitely still needs some fine-tuning, and collision with the CPUs would be cool to have... right now, unfortunately, that just results in getting yeeted across the map. But as of now, there’s already plenty of action going on (maybe a bit too much lol). I still want to implement a few more power-ups and make the VPN multiplayer robust. I reckon I might be able to release a beta to you guys sometime over the next month. Feel free to ask anything you want. Until then…

Cheers!

Feel free to stop by my Discord if you want to stay up to date...

PORTALS - Connecting maps etc. (ACSL 1.3)

I had a really cool idea in the shower yesterday morning... no, seriously lol! Why not simply integrate the saved presets and online servers from ACSL directly into the 3D world as "portals"? This would enable far more than just jumping directly into maps or onto servers, it would also be a fantastic way to link Touge and free-roam routes together. You can use the map/layout preview or own image files for them. Oh, and they are saved per track which means they also appear on online servers (if you want them to).

... This still needs some tweaking, but I think this will be ready very soon!

I wish you a nice day =)

edit: All of a sudden, the pictures were gone. I thought I had done something wrong, but something was up with the Reddit servers. Sorry for repost.

REALAUTO - Release 1.1

Hey, I hope you're having a chill Sunday...

I finished the update!!!!

"Huh? Which update? What the hell are you talking about?!"

About RealAuto: Retrofits every car with modern driving aids: an adaptive automatic transmission (4 driving modes - only for cars with automatic/DSG), cruise control with radar-based ACC, lane-keeping assist, and launch control... all without modifying the original car files. The app interface also functions as a 3D navigation system featuring clickable destinations and route guidance, which can optionally be mirrored onto the Android Auto companion app for vehicles equipped with an infotainment display. The speech output is still very rudimentary, but it can be expanded very easily in the future.

"You've told this story before... where's the update?"

Okay, calm down:

Changelog v1.1

- 3D perspective map for main window

- 2D navigation map, heading-up rotated view with route overlay

- Click anywhere on the map to set a destination, right-click to clear

- Night/Day Mode linked to car`s headlights (Car Play App)

- Voice navigation

- Double-Tap Downshift - Quickly tap the gas pedal twice to force a downshift

- Km/h / MPH toggle

- UI Tweaking

-Bugfixes

"Oh, great! And now I'm supposed to look at this shitty pictures?"

YES... and no, here are some videos:

Showcase: Navigation

Showcase: The other stuff...

"Yeah, that’s all great, but where can I get it, and is it free?"

HERE and yes, its free!

If you’d like to tell me how pointless this is, give me feedback, or simply stay up to date, I’d be delighted to welcome you to my Discord.

(Wow, that was quite a lot of links! I hope I haven't confused anyone, and that you have fun with my app 😊)

REALAUTO 1.1 - Voice Navigation

Just a quick recap: RealAuto equips every car featuring an automatic or DSG transmission with proper shift logic with drive modes, rather than simply shifting up or down based solely on RPM. Furthermore, it offers adaptive cruise control with distance warning, lane-keeping assist, and launch control.

It was actually quite obvious, but it took me a little while to realize: I’ve simply integrated the 3D map from Crazy Corsa into RealAuto. As a result, not only is one click route guidance now possible, but the entire UI and, above all, the CarPlay app makes much more sense and has a far stronger justification for its existence imho.

The speech output is still a bit rudimentary, but it can be expanded very easily. I just need to do a bit more bug-fixing, but I think I'll have it finished by the weekend. The app is free...Oh, and HERE is the link back to the original post, in case you'd like to see the other features in action...

ACSL - Online Update

"...wait, what are you talking about?!"

ACSL is a little tool that lets you launch a new session from within the running game - You can switch tracks, car, or start a different session without having to exit back to the Content Manager first. The game still has to restart, of course... it just happens automatically.

HERE’s a video showing a very old and ugly version of it.

I’ve now added a live server browser, so you can switch directly from single-player to multiplayer (and back again). The server browser automatically sorts by the number of drivers. Otherwise, you can search by name as usual and have access to the standard filters (Full, Empty, Missing, etc.). Favorites can also be saved, or existing ones imported from CM, with just a mouse click.

Even though that's not actually all that great and it was far more work than the added value really justified! But at a certain point, it became a matter of principle for me to make that possible from in-game, lol.

Perhaps this might be useful for some of you. You can find this and all my other apps at SOD Discord...

Just another ordinary day at Drift Playground...

I don't want to hear anything here about a specific game from a specific company. Any similarities are purely coincidental... what similarities, anyway? 🤷

Does anyone still have this skin pack lying around on their hard drive somewhere?

At some point, I deleted my cars folder because my AC had grown to over 1 TB... But I just really miss that pack =(

If anyone out there still has it: I would be so incredibly, infinitely grateful for a PM!

u/SLIDEORDIEofficial — 13 days ago

Drop the app into your AC's folder, go ahead and drive. The instant something goes wrong, a multi-angle slow-mo replay fires by itself. The game continues seamlessly afterwards.

What you get

- Real-time decel-based crash detection

- Three chronological replay slots: pre-impact lead-up → close-up → aftermath, each with its own cam / range / speed

- 6 saveable presets + a Random mode that picks a different style every time

- Practice/Solo only (lap gets invalidated — uses loadCarState rewind)

TrafficTool bridge (included)

If you run TrafficTool 2.0, copy the bundled patch over your TT install and traffic cars rewind in lock-step with the player car instead of staying at their live position. Without the patch CrashCam still works, you just don't get traffic-aware replays.

App is free https://discord.gg/wQtfTZhP3n

What is Crazy Corsa?

Crazy Corsa is a game overlay inspired by Crazy Taxi for Assetto Corsa. (pun intended -.-)

Some features:

- 8 unique passenger types

- 4 voice presets you may know from somewhere

- Dynamic scoring system / Passenger mood system

- CPU opponents shown as wireframes

- Police cars (with heat level) & road barriers

- Career Mode, Highway Race Mode, Time/Delivery Mode

- Car switching mechanic and own Garage to admire your unlocked cars

- 3D map with full road navigation and traffic-aware routing

- Arcade Style Overlay, fully draggable and resizeable

- 5 Player Multiplayer via VPN

- Power-ups

- Sound engine

- And much more

What is a "game overlay"?

It runs entirely client-side and is completely decoupled from the Assetto Corsa game logic. This has the huge advantage that it not only runs on any server, you can even play together in single-player mode, for example, on maps that aren't hosted anywhere. Everyone starts the game in single-player and connects with the Crazy Corsa Agent (via VPN software like Hamachi). The other player is displayed as a wireframe car, just like the CPU opponents. CC runs synchronously on both computers. (CSP now also supports direct connection between two players, which of course also works together with CC)

What do you do besides drive from A to B?

That's the core, just like in the original, but that sounds easier than it is. Each passenger has their preferred driving style, and you shouldn't upset them. Drift and cut through traffic for extra points. Up to four CPU players and four CPU police cars will try to mess you up, and there are also power-ups scattered around the maps to make your life difficult – but you can turn the tables. Use them to steal your opponent's passenger, slow them down or do other nasty things.

Does this work on every track?

Basically, yes, only the CPU/police opponents just need an AI lane or traffic spline to work properly. There's also a special game mode for highway routes where each delivery is its own little race.

Why is this and that not like the original?

Obviously to keep my dumb ass out of jail, and it's just more fun to be creative than to recreate something 1:1.

Did you use AI?

Yes, the passenger avatars and the logo are AI-generated and then manually edited, as I simply don't have the skills to create something visually acceptable completely myself. To be honest, I can't afford to have 26 individual images created externally at this point. I used Claude extension in VS Code for debugging, as I would have gotten lost with the now 40,000 lines of code at some point.

Do I need any other apps for this?

Besides CSP, no, but I recommend the 2Real Traffic tool for best immersion... and my other apps, of course lol

Is it free?

You can download the demo version (and my other apps :-D) for free. This is essentially the complete game except for: 3 fewer passage types and driver voices, multiplayer, 1 instead 4 CPU- police opponents, garage map, custom car slots.

Can I see some footage somewhere?

Sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXTAAs1O0Y8

or: https://www.reddit.com/r/assettocorsa/comments/1sq7wi3/crazy_corsa_trailer/

That's all fine, but where can I get it?

Here: https://discord.gg/4WQhGkNnwJ

I hope you enjoy it. I've put wayyy more time into it than I ever planned. It all started with a "will this even work?" idea back then, and now I've been working on it full-time for the last few months, lol. I'm really looking forward to your feedback.

Cheers

... The map you just downloaded is actually great! But the asphalt is as flat as a pancake. Horizon Maps are a good example: GREAT maps, but unfortunately, the road surface is as soft as a baby's bottom. RoadFX puts that missing texture back. The current version installs a CSP FFB-postprocess script that injects short bump pulses straight into your FFB pipeline, so the cockpit wheel stays still while you can feel the road. If this sounds cool to you: Get this and my other apps free on my Discord, where you'll also get updates - this is a quick draft but I just wanted to share it with you guys!

(Many thanks to my autofocus for these great shots -.-)
