Beginner sim racer, looking for tips!

I know my chicane is really bad LOL! I think i need to slow down a lot more, maybe 50 km/h at the exit corner? my rivazza is also pretty bad and i think i should stay in 2nd throughout. Also the hairpin in this run is really bad.

Other than that, i think my tamburello braking is really weird and im not sure if its the mod. if i go over 80% braking the wheels lock up so i really have to brake way far out, i think i can get away with around 275m but i know that i cant get away with trying 250m. Unless theres something about braking im missing.

Anyways, tips are very welcome!

Proper rolling starts are now possible in Single-player AC. Check it out!

I made an app that simulates a (somewhat) proper double-file rolling start procedure. It is currently in-development and I have scheduled to release it on overtake.gg sometime this week!

Stay tuned at my overtake.gg profile: Rapidough

Anyone else race Assetto Corsa on keyboard? How do you actually improve without wheel-centric advice?

Okay so I know this is probably going to get a "just buy a wheel" reply but hear me out first.

I've been playing Assetto Corsa for about 6 months on my laptop. Arrow keys. No wheel, no controller. And I'm actually not terrible — been grinding the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at Red Bull Ring, got myself down to a 1:35.388 in a full 22-car race against 95% AI. Started around 1:35.9 so something is working.

But here's what bothers me.

Every time I try to learn something — YouTube, Reddit, Discord — it's all written for wheel users. Trail braking feel. Brake pressure modulation. FFB feedback. I'm sitting here with arrow keys trying to mentally translate all of it and half the time it just doesn't apply.

So I've been mostly doing it alone. Watching my own replays. Thinking about where I'm braking, what my lines look like. Slowly chipping away.

It works. But I genuinely have no idea if I'm focusing on the right things or just stumbling into improvement randomly.

Anyone else in this situation? How do you figure out what to actually work on after a session? Do you have any kind of system or is it just vibes?

Curious if there are more of us out here.

Questions about mods

I brought a steering wheel recently my friend also did and he’s paying 20 pound a month and 12 pound a year for all the mods is that a normal price or is that ridiculous ? Can anyone recommend or tell me how to get graphic mods and stuff for cheaper than that thank you

Creating my own skydomes, what do you think?

I saw Exilitay made his own skydomes for Pure and wanted to try doing some too. This is addicting as hell. I wish I could do more but from where I get these skydomes (Adobe Stock), I'm limited to only 10 downloads per month at like a $25 per month subscription, so I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative if that exists, but I did get a free trial!

Best anti-aliasing combo?

Hi folks, could you share the anti-aliasing settings that worked for you the best? My inner perfectionist is struggling to find one. It's either blurry or shimmering for me.

Other games (like AMS2) have a very good AA out of the box, I wonder if something similar is possible with AC+CM+Pure (name any other mod).

Addicted to game but mods not satisfying enough?

Hi guys, I'm new to assetto corsa (installed it probably 2 months ago) and can I just say amazing, what an addicting timesink blackhole I have been sucked into.

I've spent the last 2 months installing and trying out every f1-wec (because they're my mainly preferred racing comps) cars-tracks mods I can find and comparing their physics, learning about each author's modding style, etc. Everything's been stellar and I've been feeling like a kid again relearning my love and passion for cars.

But there's only one specific thing that has caught me slightly feeling unsatisfied, its that everytime I install and compare f1 cars mods, I wonder how accurate they are to irl counterparts in terms of feel and performance.

Case in point: I tried a few Mercedes W11 and Mclaren MCL39 mods from various authors (ths, deploy, smarty, spmod, etc) and while some of them really nailed the feeling and engine sound, it didn't feel like driving an record-breaking fast f1 car, slightly underperforming even since I wasn't able to get close to the real-life topspeed of those very same cars. So I'm like still itching for more.

So this is a discussion, have you guys ever felt the same? And what do you do? Do you find other mods or try to tune each car to get a more accurate performance to its real life version?
