Beryl 7 pocket-build
Hey all!
Just wanted to share a (simple) build i recently completed with a beryl 7 and Anker Zolo power bank to have an always-on beryl 7 that stays with me throughout the day whether I'm using my phone as a USB tether, WiFi-as-WAN, or plain-old ethernet...
Was looking at a mudi 7 for the built-in battery, but for my use case, I didn't need the cellular modem nor the $400+ price tag...
Its simple, and semi-pocketable (maybe a coat/jacket pocket, not jeans...)
Parts List:
Known issues:
- Due to the nature of USB-C power banks, the router briefly power cycles when plugging in or unplugging a power supply from the power bank...
Planning to follow up with info such as battery life and power draw...
Edit: I tested the battery drainage to get an idea, and I started at 100% at 10:30 and made it 8 hours and 10 minutes before reaching 10% charge at 18:40 (6:40)…
Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
