12GO Maus and Rivers gantry crane
The 12GO 97037 and 97025 kits are my first experience with these types of non-Lego products, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality.
The brick quality and grip were very good, and the instructions were easy to follow. I only had a couple of plates that required clean up with a scalpel, along with the occasional injection moulding gate requiring clipping. Nothing was missing from the BOMs, and there were plenty of spares.
The gantry crane is huge and nicely detailed. It has a functional carriage and winch mechanism. The vertical support stability is ok, but could benefit from some reinforcement to prevent lateral wobbling when on a shelf, especially with something hanging from it.
I plan to build these into a diorama representing the Maus trials at the Kummersdorf proving grounds.
