ZTZ Type 100 MBT 12GO

Way too much hype compared to the final result. I do like the final build, and how it looks like, but I felt a bit disappointed when compared with my expectations. 12GO approached the build differently this time: if before they built the hull and side-skirts in separate processes, now the hull it's one big process, and the side-skirts are merely accessories when you look at building time, number of steps and pieces. I'm neither with nor against this. What I did find to corroborate with previous posts I've seen from other users it's the flimsiness. The main hull it's kept together in four "anchor points" from the beginning up to almost the end of the steps. This gives a big "flimsy score" and it's best if you just build them as two separate sections and join them once the reinforcing pieces come on top. I'll provide pictures.

The turret also has two pieces that refused to stay put, they kept jumping up at each step/move, even after the final steps were complete.

The tracks, if you follow the instructions, should have 64 links on each side, but I found it makes the tracks hang loosely at places and don't offer enough tightness for them to freely move when the tank is pushed. If you're looking for more tightness and friction, consider 62-63 links, up to you. Also there are no rollers on the top of the tracks, in line with the sprocket or drive wheels, so the tracks are just for show really.

There are a lot of small 1-piece studs and various other components everywhere, so be careful. At places I had to retrace a few steps because the instructions are not clear on how to rotate a certain piece, or at which angle to install other pieces. It was frustrating but with proper focus it shouldn't be a big issue.

I received different pieces than what it said in the contents list in the manual for each bag, especially the ones that compose the "digital camo" and the small 1x1 & 1x2 flat surface studs for the finishing lines.

The base of the turret, or better said, the part of the body which wraps around the turret base, is unlinked to the body, and it moves freely, so be careful when you turn the tanks upside down.

The interior is not as detailed as other tanks, it's lacking majorly. They cut corners here and I don't like the way they approached the engine area which in previous tanks was connected to the tracks and had all sorts of moving parts to install some battery-powered parts and turn the tank into a RC one. I think one could do it, but it would be very difficult.

One piece of advice, which I found helpful for all 12GO tanks so far: build the base, the hull, the interiors. After that build the turret, and only before installing the turret build and install the tracks.

Overall the build was mildy disappointing. I do like that they changed the approach because the instructions became a bit repetitive across the previous tanks. I don't like their choice to use a lot of small pieces and the confusing instructions at times. It's a bit shorter, maybe 3-4 cm, compared to their previous tanks, but the final build looks good. 7/10

I will revert later with the 99B also.

Type 100 MBT (1:35 version)

Hi there folks. Today we're taking a look at 12GO's new Type 100 model. This was my first experience with 12GO and I'm very happy with the result. Please take note that there are actually two versions of this model, one in 1:35 and one in 1:28.

The build: smooth, easy, no obstacles. There's nothing clever or wacky about this build. Some hinges, some sockets, and that's it. Everything else is good old-fashioned snap-together. The road wheels are mounted on pins and the tracks are the super easy links with shark fins on the reverse for alignment with the road wheels. The interior is very lightly modeled; an undersized crew compartment, a roundel for the turret base, and an engine. Simple stuff. Took me about six hours total for this one.

The finish: three-tone digital camo. No markings, stickers, nothing. The extent of the prints is some patterning on the turret cheeks and on the rear of the turret. Nothing terribly exciting. A couple minifigs and a sprue sheet of guns was included, if you're a diorama/vignette-style individual.

Negatives: the turret's floppy. I mean really floppy. I mean, pick-it-up-and-the-turret-lolls-around-like-a-dog's-tongue floppy. Also if you try to pick it up by the turret you get a fistful of turret and the hull stays behind to watch. The remote MG on top of the turret is also floppy. I mean really floppy. I mean, pick-it-up-and... You get the idea.

Conclusion: I actually didn't know this model came in both 1:28 and 1:35. If I had then I probably would've opted for the 1:28, seeing as how it has way more detail. Printed headlights, extra details on the turret and glacis plate, a more accurate gun mantlet, etc. That said, there's nothing wrong with the 1:35 model. The build's a good time and the final result is great.

Has anyone tried from this brand - TAOZIAWA

I was looking for a Tiger I to build and was originally going to go for Sluban but I saw this other brand and I was wondering if anyone has tried it and if they have good quality stuff? If it matters, I live in the PH.

Scaling Reworks

Had this idea for awhile inspired by another redditor. Given Cobi's wonkiness of scaling in older sets, I decided to rework my old Shermans to match the newer M4A3 in 1:28 scale. So far, I updated my Sherman Jumbo, which just needed hull and mantlet widening, and a slight rear hull rework, and my WoT M4, which I originally had modified to an M4A1, which needed widening, hull rework, and turret rebuild. Next in my list is my M4A3E8, which needs an almost total overhaul. Last pics show the two reworks with the M4A3 for comparison.

What is your Go-To Brand for figures and accessories?

Hello everyone.

I am a longtime fan of Lego who just recently found out about the existence of brands like Cobi, 12Go, Nifeliz and so many more. After looking into the actual brick quality of modern "alt-bricks" and the increasingly insane prices of Lego branded bricks, I have decided to take the plunge into getting some Lego-compatible sets from other brands. I have a few sets I am looking at getting on either Amazon or YWOBB (btw, thanks for making me aware of this site).

Though I have seen on Amazon some random sellers offering "minifig" style characters and seemingly well detailed guns/accesories for them. I was wondering if there are actual brands who make these figures or if these are just customs made by individuals? Either way, does anyone know of reputable sellers of these on Amazon?

On a somewhat related note, does anyone happen to have much experience with Nifeliz sets? They seemingly have a ton of different vehicles and such on Amazon, but I haven't seen all that many reviews of their stuff.

Thanks,

Panzer 2 D

The panzer 2 D and E used a 4 wheel configuration instead of 5, 43 of the D where made and later converted in to Flampanzers and a couple of SPGs. The E is so similar visually I'm not going to bother makeing one.

This model was made using a the Quan panzer 2 Beob and some spare 38(t) wheels I had, I know they are a bit to big but it works for me.

12GO Maus and Rivers gantry crane

The 12GO 97037 and 97025 kits are my first experience with these types of non-Lego products, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality.

The brick quality and grip were very good, and the instructions were easy to follow. I only had a couple of plates that required clean up with a scalpel, along with the occasional injection moulding gate requiring clipping. Nothing was missing from the BOMs, and there were plenty of spares.

The gantry crane is huge and nicely detailed. It has a functional carriage and winch mechanism. The vertical support stability is ok, but could benefit from some reinforcement to prevent lateral wobbling when on a shelf, especially with something hanging from it.

I plan to build these into a diorama representing the Maus trials at the Kummersdorf proving grounds.

Oxford K-21 IFV

This is same set last K-200 apc. The oxford blocks is South Korea's toy company. they are famous for making korean army set in South Korea since late 1990's. but In abroad, a lot of people don't know them. I think they didn't try to sell their good to abroad.

This vehicle is smaller scale than 1/35. so it's more simple but good appearance with well quality brick. just one complain is.. brick color is too much darker. track is rolling well on paper and cotten. but it needs pressure to roll in smooth surface.

Whole set has k-200 apc, k-211 ifv, and K-2 black panther. price is 75,900 Krw and its 49.36 USD now.
