Update #4 Jaguar 8hp45 swap on the 79 Volvo wagon

Sorry everyone for the slow update we have been working on our new building, its taking most of our free time and work life.

We got the wagon up and running on the Maxxecu mini controlling the engine and transmission.

Its a super fun car to drive running 10 psi on 13c turbo. I will swap a K24 turbo from a s60r. I'm using the BMW Shifter from a 3 series F15. I designed and 3d printed a quick mounting bracket. Bolts on top of the shifter tunnel on the factory mounting holes no cutting or drilling required.

I'm running a 3.90 gears, I need to swap the 3.30 rear end I have would make the car way better to drive in auto mode. Most of the time I manual shift the car in city driving.

Update #3 on the Jaguar 8hp swap on the 79 240 Wagon.

Transmission:

The Transmission cooler and lines have been routed and plumbed, We bought a cheap Amazon cooler for this project. Running -6 AN fitting and lines, same ID size as the Jaguar hard lines. We Had to laser cut a steel bracket and machined threaded fittings on the transmission side.

Driveshaft:

Machined a driveshaft flange yoke adapter bolts onto the Jag transmission. We found out you can run a stock Volvo 240 aw70-1 auto driveshaft.

LS Coil Bracket:

We are running wasted spark we can't run the factory dizzy so ,I quickly designed a LS coil bracket. laser cut a SS plate that bolt on top of the valve cover.

Wiring:

We are running the Maxxecu mini for this swap, it's budget friendly it will control both the engine and transmission management.

Couple of small things left before we can do our test drive. I need to get the BMW shifter bolted in the factory location. We will have an updated next week.

Update #2 on the Jag 8hp Swap into my 79 wagon.

Machining: Started with 1 inch Aluminum plate rough water jet cut oversized the OD and undersize the ID. Center drop is the Aluminum Flex plate for the converter. Added skeleton pockets to the adapter plate helps a lot with weight and it also looks cool as a finish piece.

We had to Grind the Block some because of torque converter bolts hit the block. This doesn't effect the integrity of the block casting. Transmission mates Perfect to the B230 Red block with the Jaguar converter. Erik built a quick and dirty transmission crossmember for now. I will be making a Production unit in the future.

The transmission fits Perfect in the tunnel just had to massage few small areas.

There was a lot of extra work we ran into. The original turbo downpipe had to be modified it was hitting the adapter. Also building the transmission Crossmember took some time to figure out. We were hoping the LS swap conversion members would work, save us some time.

Next is the wiring harness and transmission oil cooler lines and driveshaft soon will be ready for a test drive.
