zero sewing, painted & hot-glued - meet stu the alligator! 🐊💙

this is my second ever painted 3d printed head, my first one was also of stu but it looked terrible. i bought the head base from creativpunkt on etsy. a friend of mine was kind enough to send me a spare fursuit tongue they had lying around. the head doesn't have a back, only elastic straps, but i'm fine with that. i don't plan on making another head unless this one breaks somehow, but it was pretty fun and i'm very proud of myself!

excited to paint a 3d printed head base!

i just ordered this incredible alligator head base from Creativpunkt on etsy and i figured i'd show off my plans for my second ever painted head of my fursona (my first one was using a cheap "generic long snouted animal" base and it barely looked like an alligator at all :/ the more i looked at what i did with it, the more i hated it). the base will be coming all the way from germany (i live in australia) so it'll take a while, but it should be here a couple weeks before the con i'm going to. i really hope i can finish it in time 🤞

the base doesn't seem to have a bottom, so i'd probably just make one out of foam and line it with black spandex. a friend of mine is going to give me a fursuit tongue they had lying around, which i'm very grateful for. i'm going to be adding more lined foam around the sides to make it fit snugly on my head, and i'm reusing the straps from my last head to hold it up (don't really care that it doesn't have a back, i'll only be taking pictures from the front anyway)

the eyelids will be painted on so they don't block my already limited vision. and yes, my sona has facial hair, i know he's a reptile but he's also a cartoon, so we're throwing logic out the window ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

in case it isn't obvious i'm a total newbie, i don't know how to sew and i'd rather just paint a head than make it the normal way. feel free to ask any questions or give any (polite) advice
