Reducing Contribution %
I’m interested in any lessons learned from those that reduced their withdrawal % leading into last few years of retirement.
Bottom Line: I either need to promote or lower contribution % in order to give myself a raise. I did some projections and reducing my withdrawals by 7% would give me a “raise” equivalent to that of my next grade (and then some). The long term impact seems minimal, about $75K less at time of retirement using 9% average return. Having an extra ~$750/month would be nice!
