What Did I Buy?

I saw this Mega Drive yesterday at a pawn shop, I assumed it was a Japanese Mega Drive with the gold '16-bit' worn off due to age. It had no cables, but the price was right and they told me it had been tested. Mine won't power on, so I thought 'great, even if it's a little beat up, at worst it'll just be a replacement unit for parts.'

I got it home, and realized it has different AV outs than my JP Mega Drive does, so I can't check. Does anyone know what I've got? Asia Ntsc? PAL? Can you tell from the serial no if it has region lock out, or is it one of the models without?

Toaplan Arcade Garage: Flying Fire Shark - PS4 Release Date Trailer

PS4 is still chugging along in 2026 with boutique physical releases. this the M2 port of these games, who do the best quality conversions of retro games to modern hardware out there. this already came out in Japan a year or so back, but the fact that Sony's still green lighting Western releases is a good sign.
