How many characters from the roster did you recognize before trying out PSASBR?

How many characters from the roster did you recognize before trying out PSASBR?

Whether on release day or after the DLCs had already been released.

In my case, I recognized 7 out of 24 characters, namely:

- Kratos

- Nathan Drake

- Ratchet & Clank

- Zeus

- Jak & Daxter

- Sackboy

- Isaac

Back in 2019 and into 2020.

Honestly, just seeing Kratos, Jak, and Ratchet together (since their series were the first ones I played on my PS3) was more than enough to make me want to play the game (and I'm glad I did it).

Zeus' Goodly Goodtime (One of my favorite fan creations; credit goes to MoskiDraws on Deviant Art)

I really love this fun little PS All-Stars comic and all the references it includes so I think it deserves a little shoutout here. MoskiDraws also made a lot of great fan art for the game between 2012 and 2014. I wish there were more things like this.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a more traditional 2D fighting game

So, for the past couple of months, I've been working on a Brawl mod that makes several significant changes to the game's gameplay to bring it closer to a more classic fighting game.

One of the most significant changes is the inclusion of walls in absolutely every stage (well, except for the F-ZERO stages), which makes the stages feel more claustrophobic and limits spatial control to encourage pressure and punishment during fights.

The speed has also been increased significantly, and several characters have better attack cancels and less lag in their attacks, as well as improved aerial mobility and running speeds.

In this particular clip, some attacks are specifically designed to extend combos (such as the FSmash or Jabs). In short, some attacks don’t increase knockback progressively but serve specific functions, or the knockback increases to a lesser extent, and then there are those that are used to secure a Star KO more reliably (usually aerial attacks).

Hitlag has also received a major buff, and perhaps the most controversial change is the removal of Smash DI. This means that attacks are much more effective and leave less of an escape window, along with other tweaks to DI. For now, the mod is in beta, and a version is available on Gamebanana, though it’s an early beta of this idea I came up with, hehehe (the mod is called PCMP, by the way).
