LGNR is a prime example of what happens when more effort is given to stylistic framing and transitions than the actual script. It's such a incoherent mess amidst the three timelines. Such lazy writing and screenplay that also becomes monotonous due to the lack of interesting visuals. Sijidda gave a ridiculous soft filter to Maharaprabhu's story that made me question my eyesight, an equally boring warm tone to Binodini's story with such monotonous set pieces that you get bored beyond a point and let's not even talk about whatever the hell is happening in the present day story which is easily the most dull and dead part of the film. Like I said, Subhashree carried the whole film with her acting so this would've been better off as a standalone Noti Binodini film because Mahaprabhu literally has a guest appearance on his own film! All you see is him running around throwing his hands up in major parts of the film. The film had so much potential including a fantastic soundtrack but all goes waste seeing the end result. I still can't get over how irritating the present day timeline was and how hard Isha Saha tried to play a director. Very serial marka acting. Can't believe this is from the same filmmaker who gave Jaatishwar.
Also it's 2026 ffs, can the bangla industry just come out of the rut of dubbing and switch to sync sound filmmaking?! Dubbing makes bangla films sound so artificial especially when you're used to seeing sync sound films. It's ridiculous how lazy the industry is in adapting a more natural sounding filmmaking process because they don't want to upskill and instead give high budget as an excuse like buddy even indie films in Bollywood made on shoe string budgets use sync sound to shoot, there should be no excuse in today's day and age.
Also to make matters worse, I watched the film on Hoichoi and their desktop site sucks. Despite having a subscription, they play in 720 p and if you pause it doesn't playback from the place you had paused. Equally ridiculous UI as well.
