Mayday (Apple):  Here is a rare instance of an SVOD original film with both strong reviews and breakout audience levels. The action-comedy Mayday stars Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh has an 83% Rotten Tomatoes score and 12.0M viewers* after 18 days. This makes it the #1 original movie on Apple of all time!

Here is another data point that illustrates how strong Mayday is: in a ranking of all viewing of Apple original movies since 2025, Mayday ranks #3, only -43% and -29% behind The Gorge and Fountain Of Youth, which have been available for more than a year while Mayday has been out for less than a month.

Production Weekly is a fairly reliable database of productions in development, with scheduled filming. About a month ago, after Apple announced that The Morning Show would end in season 5, they listed TMS 06 on the weekly list. I thought it was simply a mistake, albeit unusual for them. Today they updated it. Generally, the first appearance is when a show or film enters development and the second appearance is when they update the active production phase (Pluribus 02 was also updated, indicating that production is about to begin, as they had already suggested in interviews).

Well, a reliable database used throughout the industry got it wrong twice, even with all the official news, either there's a new season of The Morning Show. It could be a spinoff with the same production title, which sometimes happens. They might be calling a continuation show TMS 06, even if it receives a new title. But it's quite strange now.
