Hello everyone,

I have a 3 year old who is speech delayed and I suspect he has autism or ADHD or maybe both (I made another post about it).
We are in speech therapy since September last year and he has shown some improvement in his fine motor skills. However, he will most likely start going to preschool in Romanian and the speech therapist is speaking to him in Serbian and just began to teach him letters (Serbian alphabet is chyrillic and that might confuse him). We were told to speak more in Serbian to him so he can start speaking in one language, we try hard but we speak romanian since we were born, because we were raised in a Romanian spaking town here in Serbia.

Besides this, she is very unprofessional towards me (twice she has sent me messages around 10pm to let me know that our session was the next day at 11:30AM) and many times it happened that my son, Erik forgot his sippy cup in her office (and she said ironically to me "oh we forgot it again").
Like it is my office and my responsibility to check of my son forgets something. 🙄

At the moment the child psychiatrist that evaluated him on 15.05 recommended us to do some tests, after I send her the results, she'll schedule us for a psychodiagnostic session and hopefully he'll get a diagnosis, so we start getting help.

Kao što sam naslov kaže, zaboravila sam da upišem dete u vrtić. Mislim da je rok bio od 1 Aprila do 8 Maja. Imam dete od 3 godine koji kasni sa govorom, ide kod logopeda, išli smo i kod psihologa i kod dečijeg psihijatra, svi predlažu da se dete uključi u grupi (upis u predškolske ustanove).
Živim u nekom selu (30 km udaljeno od Zrenjanina), u opštini imamo samo državni vrtić, gde sigurno neće ići od Septembra jer sam zaboravila kad je upis. Osećam se jako izgubljeno jer sam propustila ovu priliku. (nadam se da me možete razumeti).
Inače sam samohrana majka ali imam dobar sistem podrške.
Da li postoji neki privatan vrtić gde mogu da upišem svoje dete, da ga uključim u grupi kako bi mogao da se razvije?

Hi everyone, my son (3) is still non verbal and we are going to a speech therapist since 8 months ago and he's improved a bit. Before he didn't react to me calling his name and didn't want to play with toys. Until this age, he has shown other symptoms/characteristica such as lining up toys, obsessed with numbers and music, is a picky eater, doesn't interract with other children at playgrounds, speech delay (which I mentioned), he throws tantrums when going to a doctor's appointment (not sure if this is characteristic for children with autism).

Anyway, yesterday we had an appointment at a pediatric urologist because he has hypospadias and needs surgery. However, the doctor said she wouldn't recommend it because it will affect him psychologically and told me she thinks my son has autism, she recognized something in my sons behavior and reminded her of her son who also has autism. She suggested we go to see a child psychiatrist. We've already been to a child psychologist, but she didn't mention about my son being autistic, only that he is 'spoiled'

Now, I'm not one of those who neglect the possibility of him having autism, the earlier he gets a proper diagnosis the better.

I am a single mom, living with my parents and they also don't want to neglect that he might be autistic. However, it's harder for them to accept the fact that he might be and they compare him to another kid who had speech delay till 4.

Dragi moji, danas sam bila na kontrolu sa klincem kod lekara (ne bih da navedem specijalizaciju i ime/prezime) i rečeno mi je da dete najverovatnije je na spektru autizmu.
Ja sam sumnjala da ima autizam još od kad je imao samo godinu dana. Trenutno ima 3 godine i još uvek ne priča i pokazuje i druge simptome koji bi ukazali na autizam, ali neću da uđem u detalje.

Da li znate neke centre/ordinacije u Beogradu koje bi mogli da utvrđuju dijagnozu?
