With Increased urge for companies to adopt to AI design related Innovations, teams who manage design system, tries to build design solutions by passing designs to AI Agent. Result - AI fails to read tokens.

To mitigate this issue, I built FigSpecs - A Figma plugin.

FigSpecs generates component specs, anatomy diagrams, accessibility audits.
Tailwind v4 theme blocks & component.rules.md file which helps AI agent to understand the context of usage per component / token and map it accordingly.

I built FigSpecs out of challenges experienced.

I kept watching the same thing happen, design approved, engineer picks up the ticket, opens Figma, clicks through 40 layers trying to find padding values and token names. Meanwhile the AI agent they're using is guessing layout from a screenshot.

I've been struggling with making my variable system readable by AI agents and that's where this plugin helped me to bridge that gap effectively in 3 steps.

1. Generated variables that gives context
2. Generated Component.rules .md skill that gives agent a context
