Is this a kind of termite? Southeast Louisiana

This is the 2nd morning after a rain the previous day where these have swarmed around my kitchen light. I can’t even use my kitchen before sunrise, which is unfortunate because I’m the only one in the house that needs to be up this early. I don’t recognize these as the termites that usually swarm this time of year - they’re slightly bigger and black, and they aren’t losing their wings when they land nor are they easily dying. They look more like flying ants to me, but I’ve never seen those swarm a light like termites.

I have a video of them swarming the light with these pictures to show my roommates (who wake up after the sun and miss these guys) and maybe our landlady what I mean, because I don’t think any of them understand these guys are *not* the usual pests we get this time of year.

Can anyone ID these for me? I’ve tried looking online at pics but I just can’t figure out what they look like when I’m searching.
