New to Teambuilding

Hi, I'm new to team-building, I wanted to try and build around Tyranitar and Garchomp because I like them.

I trained Primarina to survive a dire claw + poison + sand, then brought on Sneaseler and taught Tyranitar superpower to deal with archaludon, and put flamethrower on Garchomp to try and deal with Corviknight. I made Primarina and Scizor slow to punish trick room teams that aren't slow enoigh. I find I'm almost never actually bringing Tyranitar and rarely Garchomp either. Any tips on strengthening the team or refactoring it with regards to Tyranitar would be appreciated

I remember reading a book back in middle school with a goosebumps-y vibe, set in roughly modern day. If I recall correctly the monsters were giant spiders that were (near?) invisible. They took over an artificial living space (biosphere? ecosphere?) recent research project. The protagonists (siblings?) were going on a field trip? They went and it was zoo like, there was even a dolphin enclosure, and at some point they came back after the spiders infested the place and it was silent/I think they ate the dolphin? I think the spiders were a prehistoric thing, not a lab experiment.

I vaguely remember the ecosphere being in a swamp/one of the spiders fought an alligator?

I think I also vaguely remember it being a part of a series that had a werewolf book, but on that I'm less certain.

I think that's all I remember. If anyone knows what book this was, I would appreciate it, I've been looking and I can't find it for the life of me.
