Not great as shot on iPhone, so I’ve turned the three shots into a composite image.
Out dead-heading roses, when I heard the unmistakable beat of rotary activity. Looked around to find – just in time, before they disappeared, as can be seen in the loose formation shot – a pair of Dauphins from, I suspect, 658 Sqn. A singleton flew a similar track four weeks ago. Nothing ever shows on FR24, MilFreedar, or Zephy!

After corticosteroids caused me to pile on pounds, I was chuffed to lose 25kg when I weaned off them – and now that my jacket fits, again, I find that it has been attacked by moths, during the intervening years of non wear!🤦🏻♂️ I need a replacement, therefore – but I’m loathe to buy a new one, until my weight has stabilised. For this reason, I’m thinking of going down the ex-hire, or pre-owned, route…
I happen to be flying home to Edinburgh, tomorrow, for 48hrs, and am looking for recommendations – please – for where I might find either a Prince Charlie Coatee, or a Montrose Doublet, which may be worn with kilt or trews. I have an important Bomb Alley Survivors Club (the Officers of HMS BROADSWORD, Falkland Islands, 1982) reunion dinner, next month, so would really like to square this away before then!
