I am in a desperate situation and need urgent guidance on an informal tenancy dispute in Clifton Beach, Cairns.

I was staying in a rooming accommodation with no written contract. Due to a medical emergency (broken wrist), I had to move out and gave 10 days' notice. The landlord initially agreed to return my money, but has now unilaterally decided to keep it, claiming the notice period was insufficient. Because of this, I have been left without funds for housing and was forced to sleep on the street last night. The landlord is now ignoring all my messages.
