AI in Creative Writing

Yall, i’m getting exhausted.
I’m literally almost done with college, I’m getting the degree just to help with a promotion at work. I love writing, I’m an author, I have a blog, I’ve been published internationally, locally in zines, all before AI and ever since.
And before people bring up the argument of it shouldn’t bother me because yada yada it’s not affecting me, when it comes to the arts it does! when people plug your writing into AI chat bots, it uses it to train itself. I don’t care if you’re a math major using AI (i do but it’s beyond the point.)
Our assignment was so simple for module six, we just had to show our peers what we’ve been working on (encouraged to make a website— but didn’t have to) my peer made a website through chatgpt, alongside AI book covers, AI descriptions of everything.
I replied to her that her AI website feels “inauthentic” and would be hard for peers to connect to. She replies that making websites and getting book covers is expensive (her exact quote was like $2,000 for a book cover…which is just…not accurate.)
As a writer, I feel like we’re so doomed. I know there’s gonna be people telling me not to care, and that she’s being smart by taking the easy way out, but for the love of god it’s a creative writing class, it’s so stupid.
Icing on the cake, she used AI to reply to my feedback lol.

pregnancy anxiety (year one on nexaplanon)

okay yall, i’m down one year on my nexaplanon. i was put on it because my IUD (Kyleena) failed, resulting in pregnancy. this was very traumatic for me, as I got pregnant when I lost my virginity, and after experiencing pregnancy and the abortion, losing my boyfriend due to my lack of sex drive, I told my doctor I wanted to do something different. I get flashbacks from them ripping the IUD out of me while I was crying, it was just not a good time.
Anyways, two years later, I’m with my wonderful boyfriend, my life is great, and I hit one year being on the nexaplanon this september! However….
I had the “stomach flu” twice recently, I’ve had weight gain, and my period is like 70ish days “late.” I’ve always had irregular periods. Now, if you’re wondering why I don’t want to test for pregnancy, it’s primarily because I always test, and then it’s negative. Sounds dumb, but can anyone who has hit the year mark let me know if there are changes? My diet can 100% be the cause of the weight gain, I absolutely could have had the stomach flu (i work in child care, it was going around,) and again— i know nexaplanon can cause skipping periods and weird spotting patterns, I track aggressively due to my anxiety around it.
So please, someone who’s had it for a year, please help me feel less crazy. I’m trying to let go of my pregnancy trauma.

And no, my device hasn’t moved, there hasn’t been anything off with that, i’m not on any medications that could stop it from working as much, and I am overweight.
