Almost Done

My Capstone for Human Services started Monday.

I honestly can’t believe I am going to be a college graduate soon!!!!! I’m hoping I can make it to graduation, I’m in MA and travel isn’t the issue, I have a son with Down Syndrome and I am a solo parent. I’d have to stay overnight, going up the day prior to ensure I got there on time so I’m not sure I will have someone to stay with my son. I’d love to have him come since me and him are so close and I did this for him and myself but I don’t think he would last through the ceremony. I don’t want to miss it considering this is something I thought I would never be able to do but I guess if I have to attend virtually then it just is what it is.

Thanks for letting me vent and share.

Woo Hoo 🎉

Official Transcript

Hey everyone,

I just graduated from SNHU with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and ordered my official transcript.

My unofficial transcript had a section that explicitly said "Degree Awarded," but my official transcript only lists:

  • Most Recent Program: Bachelor of Science
  • Major: Criminal Justice
  • Concentration: Police Administration and Operations

It doesn't actually say "Degree Awarded" or "Degree Conferred" anywhere.

Is this how SNHU's official transcripts normally look after graduation, or should I contact the registrar?

Thanks!

BS in cybersecurity

hello,

i graduated snhu with a bs in cybersecurity a couple months back and im pretty lost. i was on reddit and a lot of people were saying cybersecurity isnt really an entry-level field, and i get that. the problem is i feel like i barely learned everything because a lot of the time it wasnt really about learning, it was just "how do i get a good grade so i can pass?" im kinda regretting that now because i dont really know what to do. im thinking maybe getting a help desk or support desk job would be a good way to get experience while i work on my certs. would that actually help? what would you do if you were in my position?

6 courses away from graduation and I am on standby, thanks VA

I'm using the VR&E program through the VA to get through school, but apparently it's time for the annual re-approval and my VA advocate is MIA. The semester started on holiday week so of course I can't get a hold of anyone. Had to drop the class to prevent the risk of potentially having to pay out of pocket. I'm gutted, if the program decided to pull the plug so close to the end, I'm not sure when I'll be able to pick back up again, as I committed financial ctrl+alt+delete when I bought a house last fall. Seriously frustrated while I wait a week to find out if I'm on a summer break or a forever break from school.

Rant over.

MAT133 can’t afford the book…

I’m not sure where to go with this course. I’m behind on my tuition payment because of the way the VA changed their payment schedule so I already owe SNHU $600 (I pay fully out of pocket for school) for the last term. Now I’m being required to pay $90 for this book to do this class, I can’t afford it. I’m negative $120 in my bank account, I won’t get my VA benefit likely until the ~10th to pay off last term and make a payment for this term. None of my books have been this much and of course when I’m already falling behind on everything, I get hit with this? What do I do? I can’t even complete anything for week one because everything required (aside from the readiness quiz) is in this book. I’m a single mom of 5, I don’t qualify for FASFA right now because I am in default still.

I forgot to get enrolled in classes this term. I know SNHU is closed today in observance of 4th of July, will I still be able to speak to my advisor Monday and enroll in a couple classes or will it be too late? 🤦‍♂️

My Recommendation Before Enrolling

I always tell people to look into CPL (Credit for Prior Learning) options before enrolling at SNHU. It saved me over $9,000 in tuition and books.

Just to be clear, I’m only sharing my personal experience from 2025, when I first enrolled at SNHU. I did have many college credits already, and I figured out exactly what I needed to hit the 90-credit transfer cap before starting.

I completed my B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management in March. I took four courses in less than a month, and they all transferred to SNHU. I paid about $74 for a one month subscription to an online education platform that SNHU partners with. That saved me over $4,000 in tuition and books.

Always confirm with the registrar first, though, because your program, catalog year, and remaining requirements can affect what actually applies.

The courses I used transferred from the SNHU partner were:

• ACC 201 Financial Accounting
• ACC 202 Managerial Accounting
• ECO 201 Microeconomics
• FIN 320 Principles of Finance

Coursera certifications can help too. My Google Project Management Professional certificate covered four out of the five courses in my Project Management concentration:

• QSO 340
• QSO 355
• QSO 420
• QSO 435

My Google Cybersecurity certification also counted toward IT 2ELE.

I also had certifications like Google UX Design, Microsoft UX Design, Google Data Analytics, and Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce evaluated for credit. By that point, though, I had already hit the 90-credit transfer cap, so most of those ended up being extra credits that I couldn’t use.

For example, SNHU evaluated them for courses like:

• CS 319
• IT 355
• DAT 205
• DAT 325
• DAT 375
• MKT 225
• MKT 315

Also, don’t pay for transcript delivery through Parchment. I sent all of these courses and certifications to SNHU for free through Credly using the transcript option.

Definitely look into these options before spending thousands of dollars and eight weeks on classes that you may be able to satisfy through transfer credit or Credit for Prior Learning instead.

One note about the screenshots: they don’t show exactly what applied during my B.S. degree because I enrolled in a certificate program through SNHU afterward. I can no longer view the Academic Evaluation from my completed B.S., so the screenshots are just examples of how SNHU evaluated the credits/certifications.

Bachelor’s ✅

I did it!! I graduated 4 years ago with my associates degree and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life anymore. Plans changed. Dreams changed. So I sat on my associates for 4 years. I worked as a special education paraprofessional and fell in love with education all over again! This past year my head teacher left, leaving me to teach the class the remainder of the year! I enrolled into SNHU to finish my degree in general studies so that I could apply for a special Master’s program in my home state, which will allow me to teach while earning my special education degree!! I busted my butt for 7 months to finish so that I could start the new school year as a teacher and to start in my Master’s program on time!! THANK YOU SNHU!!

2026-2027

Is anyone else going through this?

I'm an online graduate student, and my 2026–2027 financial aid offer still hasn't shown up. My next term starts on Monday, so I'm starting to get a little worried.

I know there have been a lot of changes with the One Big Beautiful Bill, so I'm not sure if that's what's causing the delay. I did speak with a financial aid advisor, and she told me to just wait because my aid is still being processed. She also explained that, going forward, I likely won't receive the same loan amounts as before—just enough to cover my class, with little to no refund.

I'm mostly wondering if anyone else is still waiting on their financial aid offer or if you've heard anything different. Thanks!

Mixed signals

I don’t know what to do at this point.

I am going through a lot of medical issues so I ended up taking this term off. I spoke with one advisor (not my regular advisor) who sympathized and told me five different classes I could test out of through Study.com/coursera/sofia. I was quite excited about the prospect of finishing off a whole years worth of schooling in a few months

I connected with my regular advisor to verify a few things and they basically made it seem like none of the classes I was suggested would transfer over. I consistently feel like I’m being told different things from different advisors. I’m about to ask to speak to a supervisor to talk about how I cannot be properly advised if I am being told completely different things. I just wanna be able to finish my education and not waste money if a test out course isn’t going to be accepted as a transfer.

Finally done!

Glory to God for helping me through this! I’m gonna be completely honest and say there should’ve been times where I failed but God made a way. Not to mention that my gpa has gone up tremendously since high school. I know gpa means nothing but I have narcolepsy which affects me heavily so seeing a 3.6 compared to what I had in high school and community college just gives me another reason to praise God. I pray nothing but blessings and guidance for those that have completed this part of their journey and those that are still on it. God bless you all and may peace be with you! 🙏🏼💗

I need quick answers please, can I dothe final milestone immediately after submitting the final touchstone?

what about the touchstone tasks?
i only did the final touchstone, i was under the impression that i only need to do the final one, because it said the course has one touchstone, not five.
for context, it's the intro to networking course, this is my dahboard
