Delayed Gratification

Hi all! New here and just looking to share my music with people and meet other makers.

Most of what I make is improvised and rather spontaneous. I made this today and really dug the vibe. If you’re not really into long form kind of ambient jammy things skip ahead to around 5min ;)

I like to make music that is kind of on the edge of ambient, jazz, funk, rock, shoegaze, post-rock.

The process is really organic though so whatever comes out is whatever comes out.

I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks!

Earth Element

Acrylic and pigment on canvas. 50F / 45.6x35in

I’m not sure if this one is finished. But I’m curious what everyone thinks. The first photo is the whole piece, the others are details—if that wasn’t obvious.

My process usually involves lots of waiting until I start to see something on the canvas. I start adding a layer and exploring. I am very experimental. I almost “taste” a color or texture before I add it. So on and so forth. I’m very much a process artist and am discovering also the New Casualists movement that I might feel aligned with.

When you look at this, does it feel whole to you? If not, maybe the absence of wholeness is appealing. Do we always need to have a sense of completion?

Anyhow thanks for looking!

What should I add next?

So I’m not sure which direction to go here.

Some obvious missing things are a timer and EQ. But I use a timer on my headstock and EQ I’m not sure about?

What else would you add here?

I’m playing some mixture of RHCP, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and Portishead style music.

Obviously the S-1 is not a pedal so can move it but it’s creates some killer ambiences.

Curious what y’all think I should check out next? Lots of used options here in France so budget is kind of open. Maybe 300eu max for 2-3more? Or one killer magic thing haha.

Tell me your thoughts!
