Getting a Sense for Living in Green Bay.

I’m planning to move to Wisconsin in the coming years and Green Bay is a contender. I will be visiting Green Bay for the first time this summer as part of my series of research trips. Any recommendations of what area of town to stay in to get a sense of everyday life in Green Bay (open to Appleton too)? I’m planning to stay for a few days and rent a place on Airbnb so suburbs is an option.

Would also love recommendations on things that the locals do. I’m planning to check out the climbing gym, trails, and grocery stores while I am there. I don’t care much for watching sports so proximity to the stadium is not a consideration in the slightest.

How Can I Climb Longer?

I’m relatively new to climbing and I’m trying to figure out what I can do to climb more routes in one session. I started seriously getting into climbing about 3-4 weeks ago after recovering from an injury (not related) and it seems like I can typically only do three or four routes before having to call it (going 1-2x a week) m. I start on an easy one (5.7), medium (5.9), challenge (5.10a), then medium (overhang 5.7/5.8). Sometimes I’ll flip the first medium and challenge. I usually do two on the tallest walls (50ft o think) and always try and throw in a 5.7 overhang on that wall for trying to build stamina. After the 3rd of 4th climb, I tend to get too tired to continue. It’s not a huge deal since I have a membership, but what can I do to be able to climb more or is it just something that comes over time? The part that usually gives out is my forearms and grip.

For reference, I typically workout about 30 hours a month doing a variety of things including: weight training, Pilates, biking, and climbing. The weight training is primarily a class at this climbing gym that is supposed to be geared towards climbers. I also did start tracking calories recently and have confirmed I am getting enough protein and I usually eat a banana and rice cake before climbing to help with energy.
