Back in Dubai after 3 years in Canada, feeling all kinds of some way

Landed last week for the first time since I left for uni/work in Canada. City looks totally different, half my old hangout spots are gone.
Being back with family has been the best part though. Mom’s cooking nonstop like she’s making up for three years lol, grandma keeps staring at me like she can’t believe I’m actually here.

Forgot how much I missed the little things, call to prayer, driving with windows down when it’s finally cool out, majlis nights that go way too late.
Also the reverse culture shock , forgot how big the portions are here and how everyone dresses up just to go to the grocery store 😂
Anyone else felt that “this is home but I don’t fully fit here anymore” thing after being away a while?

Left laptop on AC domestic flight 3 days ago… any advice on getting it back?

Realized about 48 hours after landing that I’d left my laptop in the seat pocket in front of me on a short Air Canada flight. I’ve filed a Chargerback report but haven’t heard anything back yet, and I know the 3-day gap isn’t ideal.

Has anyone had luck getting cabin items back after this kind of delay? Specifically wondering:
∙ Does going in person to the baggage service desk at the arrival airport actually help, or is it the same system as calling/Chargerback?
∙ How long do found items usually sit before showing up in the system?
∙ Any tips for getting past first-line phone support to someone who can actually check?
Appreciate any experiences, good or bad.
