Help Needed for CSE 6040! Totally Messed up the First Mid term

I only scored 3 points on the first midterm, even though I studied very hard for this class and have been putting in more than 20 hours each week. I think my main issue is that it takes me hours to solve a single question, and the syntax just doesn’t come naturally to me. I also struggle with figuring out the right algorithm or approach to solve a problem. In addition, I wanna go to the TA office hour, but I honestly not sure whether they will be able to help me other than showing me the answers.

What are some ways I can recover from this and improve going forward?

Favorable Final Round Feedback but Offer Delayed Until Fiscal Year-End — How Common Is This?

TL;DR: Completed all interview rounds for an experienced-hire consulting/product role at EY. Recruiter said feedback was favorable and the team is interested in extending an offer, but they cannot issue anything formal until after fiscal year-end / internal planning. Trying to understand how common this is and how much confidence I should place in it.

I recently completed the full interview process for an experienced-hire role in a product/AI-related team. After the final round, the recruiter told me the feedback was favorable and that the team is interested in moving forward / extending an offer.

However, they also said they cannot issue a formal offer right now because of internal timing factors such as fiscal year-end, performance review cycles, summer schedules, and broader business considerations. They mentioned that things may not move forward until around the start of the new fiscal year.

  1. Has anyone experienced “positive feedback / offer intent” but no formal offer yet due to fiscal-year timing or internal approvals?
  2. How often do these situations actually turn into offers after the new fiscal year begins?

Appreciate any insight from people who have gone through something similar.
