RESIDENCY (pls help me understand)

hello! can you please explain to me the concept of residency? like do i still have to apply to a school? do i pay for that training? will i be able to make profits from it already or no? how specifically do u specialize in a certain field (ex: cardiology) like may specific application po ba in a certain field? what do u actually do during residency?

(im just scared how much more it will cost me to specialize in a specific field after med school since that alone is already expensive enough.)

Do doctors still practice the profession they trained for in their pre-med/undergraduate degree after becoming licensed physicians?

If someone was already licensed in their undergraduate profession (such as an RMT, RND, RN, PT, or pharmacist) before medical school, is it common or practical for them to continue practicing both professions after becoming a licensed physician?

or do you guys focus on being a full time physician already?

i wanna ask since i feel like i’m not really into the full time job in my undergraduate degree. i just chose this so i can somehow still have a fallback if ever med school doesn’t happen right away. maybe i’ll work for a few, if given the opportunity. and then proceed with med school after.

im just getting fomo from people who actually like their undergrad before med 🥲 (i really want medtech or slp, but wasnt able to pursue it 😁)

how likely is it for crs to open for shiftees? (pt or slp!)

crs didn't directly turned down my inquiry regarding shifters, however it is stated that there are also no assurance. asked a pt student under that college and she said that they do open namann, depending on slots din talaga. "minsan meron, minsan wala" if so, i'd really love to hear perspective from shiftees sana >< hopefully from the same college im eyeing.

thoughts on ab and educ being called "bagsakan ng debarred at mga di nakapasa ng ustet"?

idk what to feel about this, honestly. because most of the people saying that are non-thomasian and studies outside of ust. what a shame that they limit their perspective on students under those colleges into that title when in fact majority of them actually CHOSE the program. na para bang kasalanan pa ng students na generous yung faculty and less strict when compared to other colleges?

2026 na, uso pa rin program shaming 😵

ano po thought process ng mga students here na nag enroll sa dream school pero hindi dream program ang kinuha? / gen

might not seem like it, but this is a genuine question clming from someone na medyo half hearted in pursuing my alternative program since iba talaga dream program ko :(( i think mine's kinda tolerable but im just scared of the future (major subj, laboratories, and future job opportunities)

did you guys manage to survive the program?
did you learn to love it along the way?
can you say na this is a redirection and a rejection from my prio prog?

like genuinely i need to know anything (preferrably state what was your totga and current programm ^^) thank you!

tuamtanggap ba ng shiftee ang crs? specifically slp or ot

i plan on going to ust with my alternative program (na mejo 50/50 ako in taking because im scared about the job opportunities if ever di ako makapag med school agad) but it's a good pre-med naman daw ^^ however, i feel like i'd rather be under crs because i like heavy sciences more and actually leaning into rehab sci upon assessing what i really like.

  1. so, tumatanggap ba shiftee yung crs?
  2. how;s the process?
  3. grades i need to maintain?
  4. magiging irreg student ba pag nag shift?
  5. ilang years ko need itake yung program na pasado ako bago makapag shift? (g
