At the age of 40 (almost 41) I can say I understand the dynamics behind friendship.

"He knows the lyrics. He doesn't know the beat."

That about sums it up. I can read all the stuff I want about how to make friends, but ultimately, friendship - like all human relationships - does not have a "how to" manual.

You will either connect with others, or you won't. It's out of your hands. Strangely, I find peace in this realization.
