My catering business partner (who has much more experience than I do) wants to do a site visit prior to service at unknown private spaces.

This summer we catered a private backyard wedding where the layout, flow, and kitchen usage was drastically changed from when we signed the contract to when we provided service. It caused a decent amount of stress, but service was not delayed and the customer was pleased.

My partner wants to perform a site visit for every unknown venue we use prior to service, and potentially include specifics about the layout in the contract. Is this standard practice How is this scalable?

I have a Medusa Whirlwind snake of unknown model. There is nothing anywhere on the equipment denoting any numbers or any kind for that reference. See attached pic of box. Ignore the red arrows, they are just highlighting ground lift toggles. I'm trying to figure out how to use the returns labeled 1-8. The only input for returns on the fan end are for A & B. The fan contains A-B xlr inputs. 1-14 xlr outputs. There is no clear evidence at the neck or fan end of the snake where returns 1-8 might have been damaged/removed. Aside from changing gender on one end and performing methodical continuity with the sends present on fan end, does anyone know what could be going on, how to investigate, what the intended use would be for 8 returns present on box that do not have corresponding inputs on fan?
