How do you feel about the set length?
I know Muse has historically never been a band with massive setlists (2 hours max). However, considering they don’t even have their full production for this US tour, I find it really disappointing that they aren't even filling those two hours anymore - Right now, they play for about 1 h 45 min, and that includes roughly 10 minutes of instrumentals.
I recently went to a Foo Fighters show, and they played for over an hour longer than Muse. Now, I know the two bands aren't fully comparable in terms of production, but Dave Grohl was still screaming his lungs out 150 minutes into the show - and that’s after playing with literally no breaks. It just feels like Muse is doing the bare minimum on this front, which doesn't sit right with me, especially considering how expensive a ticket has become.
Addding like 3 more songs surely can't hurt them, but gives them way more flexibility in terms of the setlist and the fans the feeling, that they actually care about making them happy.
Do you think this just comes down to laziness or is Matt just unable to handle 2 hours of singing anymore for a full tour?
