Im Walking to Mordor in my Watercolor sketchbook! Part 6 -Final!

Im so happy to finally share the final illustrations :D
I started this project on December 2024, I finished the "walking part" on April 2026. 2.713.884 steps
and I finished the artwork yesterday haha. I had some delays because during that period I had some health struggles. there are 46 illustrations on the sketchbook, I tried to make around 3 x month. but some months have more and some have less.
When the company parted ways, I did not want to make 239042834 black and grey illustrations of Mordor, so I made one for Sam and Frodo, one for Merry and Pippin, and another one for Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
I always kept the same process. I checked how many steps I made, and registered, then I used an app called "Walk Middle Earth" and I compared the miles with Frodo's Journey, and then looked up places that might have inspired Tolkien. I tried not to use reference images from the movies, although I discovered that some of the imaginary of the movie was ingrained in my brain, and I realized that later, after watching the movie for the first time after 20 years. hahaha
This project made me leave my comfort zone in more than one way, made me want to go for walks outside, by painting places that I never tried before, and using color palettes that im not used to.
I still have some 10 pages on the sketchbook, and I think ill use it to practice interior pieces, to celebrate the returning home.
